Walt isn't a sociopath, not by any stretch of the imagination. He's a dangerous man in a dangerous world, so he has to do what he can to survive. He has too much emotion to be a sociopath, he cares too much for others, he's far too willing to do things that put himself in danger for the sake of others. He's also not a very good liar. He's afraid of getting caught because of how much it could affect the people around him more than because he wants to save his own hide. Does he have anti-social traits? Yes, certainly moreso than many other people. But a full-blown sociopath? Not by any means.
On my 3rd attempt in 6 years, I have finally completed GTA IV (not the DLC). Niko Bellic is a pretty cool guy. I almost felt sorry for him, which is more than I can say for almost any other video game character. I enjoyed GTA V far more than GTA IV, but as amusing as the characters were, none of them really felt like they had the sense of purpose that Niko did. It's a shame Liberty City is such a shit map.
The two DLCs for GTA IV are more fun than the main game, so you might want to look into them. Also, WHEN THE FUCK DO WE FINALLY GET GTA 5 FOR PC?? I'm tempted to get a PlayStation 3 just for this shit.
I'll be playing the DLCs on my next rotation in July. I played GTA V on my brother's 360 in a few days, rushed. I'm looking forward to a PC release to play it through at a more leisurely pace, actually get some exploring done.
and Red Dead Redemption... I just don't want to invest money in such outdated tech like a PS3. The writers of Breaking Bad did a really interesting thing with Walter White. First they introduced him as a decent, likeable mainstream guy anyone can identify with. Over the following seasons they show his descent into a darker and darker personality that is losing much of his humanity and almost ending up as the classical hubris loaded antagonist. And yet, in the last episode they redeem him, let him reconcile with his wife, liberate Jessy and allow him to die somewhat content and with a smile on his face.
There is no such thing as something good happening in game of thrones, its either luck or a tragedy and turns into a damn mess. Fuck the lannisters. The worst part is this is significantly minor compared to whats to come.
