New empires community dwarf fortress?

You sure about that? Dude says it has stability issues, and df hack doesn't work with it.

 

perform a miracle and get them working? remind me never to play a succession game with you. The new military system is not hard to figure out, and it's better than the old one.

Skeletons and zombies have HP in the current version so any weapon can kill them effectively. Skeletons were almost completely immune from all weapons before this but now any weapon can take them down. I've cleared out a curious structure; I don't need advice, thanks.

Of course they're a necessary investment, but not before the first year is over. Are you seriously telling me that giving your starting 7 equipment is going to mean the difference between life and death? Pathetic.

 

It let me embark with 25 dwarves fine, the problem is when you change the main race, or give labor to animals.

What would we need DFHack for anyways?

 

It doesn't really matter, I think we can all embark with our own choices of dwarves etc, the only thing is that we start in the same place, same mods etc. Once I get the save out, do what you want.

yeap, not a big fan of all the modding for a game like this.

i can't believe everyone's modding it already, i doubt most of the people have even hit the magma lake.

I'm going to find a site, then embark and abandon. When I finally get this save up, just reclaim.

 

or just get a seed for the world gen so u can recreate the world infinitive times and even share it to others with a simple and small .txt file?

 

I just tried streaming a bit of DF in order to see if that was a viable way of telling everyone what has happened during the year.
Didn't affect DF's framerate, but made all my cores hit 100% usage, DF alone only uses about 50% from 1-2 cores. So.. I won't be doing that, mainly because it's already hot enough and i don't want to overheat my pc.
Edit, i've done a year and uploaded a rar'd file of the region in case anyone wants to take a look at it.

Never played Dwarf Fortress, but how long is a year in DF time?

 

4 seasons, 3 months per season.
How long it takes for you depends on your framerate.
