You don't even have to have 9 mines; laying 8 mines and then mortaring/rocketing the comm works aswell.

Or make the commander not die from just nine mines. ;)

just dont make it so mines cant kill tanks anymore.. that would suck

i read somewhere that you wanted 8 mines to only be able to kill 1 building? wouldnt that mean that the 9 mine trick wouldnt be able to kill a armored tank?

also escort has been dominated by BE latley and if you nerf the mines then BE will win even more easier... yeah yeah its the maps fault.. well what will you do to fix that if you nerf the mines

Ninja-ing isn't a problem. A cautious commander can easily defend from a gren attack *points to Shin's post*.

I agree on the CV dying =/= end of game. That way when the CV gets ninja'd, everything isn't lost.

I've said it in past, I'll repeat:

9th mine pisses me off to no end; there's no defense for it - you can't go defusal, the explosion still kills you...

I say if a gren places a 9th mine, make the oldest just vanish. Make FRIENDLY mortar rounds/explosions not detonate mines. That way, a comm with defusal can actually be a bit safer.

9th mines are cool to stop tanks that think because they have a magical skill they are able to drive an unmodified tank over mines. I wouldn't mind taking out the mines but making the defuse skill only allow for you to run over 80% of the mines or something. Making suicide jeep and apc rushes, well suicide. If no one likes that I have countlessly suggested making a auto trip mine, which a grenadier has, that anything goes over it, it will set off. Limit 1 of those mines at a time. This way the only way to actually defuse those is to get out of your tank and do so.

I don't ninja myself but I've had some funny experiences with it. At least a few times when my team was backed into a corner, surviving on 1 ref and mainly infantry, someone has destroyed their comm. and everyone is like "what just happened why did we win?" (or "why did we lose?" on the other side) because we pretty much already accepted defeat. I've been on the losing end of that ninja trick after a long game and it's really not that bad, you know you should have won and that's enough for me really. I don't think "ninjaing" should be nerfed, it's becoming a well known strategy and the only way to defeat a strategy is to plan preemptively (planting mines, placing some turrets by the CV, ect...)

I agree - but the only place where I see removing the 9th mine being a large problem is on Escort. Maybe make defusal increase the CHANCE that you won't detonate, but there is still a chance it will go off?

Could make the Commander Vehicle immune to mines by default and rather that detonating the 9th, just delete it. This way, 9th mine can't act as a satchel charge and 8 Mines under the tires when the CV takes a rocket in the tail pipe, it won't "run over them" to detonate them.

Effective Ninja Grenadier eliminated. Best chance they'd have is a buttload of 'Nadiers in a coordinated Rocket Orgy.

it just sucks cause as a gren the only chance you have agianst a heavy tank is the 9 mine trick.. i doubt there is a way to nerf mines agianst buildings and CV's only.. i dont think they should be nerfed agiasnt tanks(or even the CV) but i do agree that the mass base kill should be nerfed

also alot of people keep repeating things already said or suggestions.. please read up more before you decide to post somthing here

Some way to make a VF immune to all infantry originated weapons. Tanks don't usually get to pull through at the start of the game, so it would take a while to get a decent panzer party going on.

Edit: I also like the blimp idea, but I don't see it happening.

Thats your own problem if you can't get tanks in the start of the game. Having VF be immune to the engie calc or nades is horrible.

all you need to do to stop a ninja is to slow him down and make himself obvious enough that you can get men back to base, and can kill him.

this can be done VERY EASILY by placing 2 or 3 turrets around the commander.

so every time you get ninja'd by a lone enemy, who's fault is it. the game's? no. THE COMMANDER.

i just have to say that again: ninja'ing is NOT the fault of the game, it's the fault of the commander.

I don't think a single grenadier should be able to kill a heavy tank, unless he is not attacked for a long time as in giving him enough time to do so. In that stage of the game you should be having tanks and grenadiers.

Whether or not grenadier and ninjaing is a fun factor, does not make it out of place or some of its uses overpowered, its the commanders fault in the current game, we all know that. But should the commander have such an active role in late game of trying to not get ninjad, im sorry but I disagree, one roaming grenadier can kill anything in your base even if you've lost. If they can't reach the cv with the mortar from long distance (don't tell me at the longest distance you cant somehow find cover) it could be another building. Sometimes it takes a whole team to finish a stalemate, and the last thing you need is grenadiers allowing to sneak past you and finish you off quicker than you could them because they have turretfarmed and you didnt. Somebody mentioned that ninjaing should be in because dying slowly and getting spawncamped is no fun, but failed ninja attempts cause games that should be over to take longer, as one guy can force a whole team to delay their totall attack and i've seen it happen many times, you can refuse to believe that there is a imbalance taking place here, but then you'd also have to claim theres absolutely nothing wrong with classic maps taking 20 minutes and district going on for 3 hours.

teamwork > ramboing, and at this point I think 9th mine trick and other things that make ninjaing possible (not just by a grenadier) are in the way of getting to these epic battles that are not stalemates.

I'm hoping I'm not the only one seeing a major imbalance taking place here where I think it can be improved, ninja's don't need to go, but its rambo effectiveness needs to be reduced, there is no teamwork in ramboing, how much some of you may want everyone to believe there is.

In a later game where the main priority is tanks, the rifleman as the only of two heavy infantry classes becomes useless, it stands to reason the grenadier should get weaker when tanks get stronger too.

Why not just have the CV start with mine defusal?

I mean, I think mine defusal in a vehicle is stupid, but it's in the game now so I guess it would work (unless they plan on removing it eventually). I don't know that ninjaing should be taken out completely. It stands to reason that one should need to protect their CV/comm.

Also, not all rounds are created equal. Some need to end quickly (or eventually), and sometimes ninjaing is the only way to do that. I personally have never felt angry when someone ninjas the comm. It's just another dimension of the gameplay.
