I just made french fries by preparing them sous vide in brine and running them through an ultrasound/cavitation cleaner for 2 hours, drying out in the fridge, blanching in oil, draining, freezing and then flash frying.

4 hours to make a portion of fries but fucking hell, I've never eaten potato so good.

Tl;dl - get on my level.

Cavitation? That's like the way that McDonald's makes their fries, right?

I'm used to scrambled eggs being a fuckload drier than that.

I like Gordon Ramsay's video better though.

So I started watching all these videos about cooking food and then I realised my roommate is away and I hate cooking for one.

Guess I'll go have cup ramen
    Again.

I am pretty damn glad my boyfriend is pretty good at cooking. Otherwise it would be the same as with Empty here.

I can cook but my roommate has no interest in:
    1) Spicy food
    2) Food that isn't 60% meat or more
    3) Vegetables that aren't potato
    4) Foreign food

So it's kinda hard to cook at the best of times, and cooking on my own is literally straight up depressing and unfun.

This. I pretty much didn't need to do it before. By now my boyfriend is practically teaching me to cook. That's actually pretty fun.

I rather like cooking by myself, mostly because I cook in a small kitchen and I like a lot of elbow room. Real peaceful too. Baking still kinda sucks though, but at least making bread can be a fun chore.

I just started doing the whole weekly meal prep thing. Where you cook everything on Sunday or whenever is best all at once.

Last weekend I made a pot of pasta salad, 7 bacon breakfast burritos and a pot of indian yellow rice. I also chopped up fruit for fruit salad for those (rare) mornings when a cup of coffee and a bacon breakfast burrito just doesn't seem right.

Anyone else do this method? What are some good things to keep in the fridge for the whole week?

Chili is pretty good stuff. Soups can be great stuff too, chicken and rice or a good beef stew. Lasagna can keep for a bit, but I'm not entirely sure any of this would last til day 6 or 7. I tend to eat it before it gets that old though, or toss it in the freezer in portioned sizes for easy heating.

A bunch of fried eggs and slices of bacon.

Microwave em every morning and toast a piece of wheat bread for a magical sammich.

You're roommate is a boring cunt. Throw chillies at him.
