zomg, i heart you....finally you've rewoken the beast. i'll be glad to spend time optimizie it to the best of my abilites. I'm off work this week, so shoot me the vmf pronto and i'll try to have it ready for this weekend. also : first lighting is better, just more swampy/jungle feel. heck you can even add more green to the fog to 'darken' it up a bit. Make it like dagobah!!
i have put this map on my server, and everytime i spawn as brenodi, i get a crash. the same happens if i drive to cloase to the brenodi's base as nothern, it crashes again. this version is unplayable...
Thats because the last version was compiled for the episode 1 engine, not orangebox. I should really take those download links down... I'll have the update ready by the end of today, by the way.

Dude i love that lighting and fog layout, great job. O and Orangebox CAN handle more props being viewed at once then ep1. we shouldn't crash to fast now.
Its done, I just need someone to optimise + compile it for me. I can't optimise for shit, by the way. As it stands, the map will take several days to compile.
Just When You Thought It Was Dead... ... it lives. Due to popular demand, I have decided to recompile and have a go at optimising this, and my labours have indeed yielded a tolerable framerate. I've also redone some brushwork, added bridges to make drowning tanks a little less easy, and spammed explosive barrels for shits and giggles and adding that tiny bit of unneccessary lag. I should have the map release ready soon, and in the meantime, here be some nice screenies. Thanks to all those who played the beta of this with missing models and bridges that threw tanks off them, and then said VGG at the end of the game.

Ah so this is your horrible horrible first map which should never see the light of day. I can see why you'd have trouble optimising it. If you promise me you won't try to optimise it yourself first, I'll have a go at it if you want, it looks pretty interesting.
Actually, I played it Chris. It has good FPS, better than Silo. I usually get 60 on most maps and I get around 55 on this. Nearly triple what the original had. I'd like more trees if it didn't hit FPS, and denser fog.
I loved this map when it first came out. Sadly it was as merciful to my FPS like a psycho with a meat cleaver would be against a kitten. Hopefully this new version will be better optimized.
Pain in the ass to drive around in it. Please improve the minimap to give hints where you can pass the water with bridges OR shallow water. Really confusing for me. Also why did you remove the lulzy concretebag models from dizzy they were made of win. If you look really close at the texture you are going to rofl hard.
