Epic always has serious frame skipping/lag issues when I play there, but I do like many of the maps. Yes, I'm in the US and according to at least one other Epic player I kill Indians. So that must have something to do with it. I played Epic yesterday with a half dozen others and had fun though I was laughed at when the lag apparently had me shooting everywhere except at my intended targets. We stuck to tanks and lag didn't bother large slow moving barns too much.
Most of the guys I know who have problems with epic is they have trouble connecting on occasion and they would stare at a loading screen forever. I didn't see much rubber banding issues but people who get timed out more frequently. Could be because of the regions but im kinda confused how they can connect with viper with abysmal ping and not get forced out when EPIC is closer to them.
There is one or two epic maps that cause me to hang at load up. Same ones. If the game is playing one of those maps I can't join either. If anyone cares I can make a note of the map names next time I run in to them.
There might be a couple of broken maps on EPIC server, I need to find and address that. I just don't know which. I think emp_snowstorm might have been one of them but I'm not entirely sure.
I find it interesting that we have more people complaining about trivial things in the forums than we actually have playing the game. I live in the US and never have ping issues on epic. In fact, I've never had any issues there at all. I'm happy to play on that server or Viper. Really, with so few people playing, and it being so hard just to get a game started, are we really going to spend time pissing and moaning about which server is better? Shut up and play, and be thankful that we have any servers at all.
