Which Unofficial maps should be made official in next release?

    why does everyone hate dstrict and glycencity? i like a map without uber heavies once in a while

    Midbridge definitely and also plunge (but not as definitely as midbridge ;)).
    I hate shadows... looks beautiful, but has a bad gameplay.
    Vehicletraining is definitely nothing for the official release. This is one of the most boring maps I know.
    Frost doesn't seam very polished yet if it is the one I'm thinking about (Snow, ice, lake in the middle and tunnels through the hills on both sides).

    I said this when this thread was in the tester area but we need a new version of money..

    A bigger middle area with a flag to hold and plenty of room to drive around with out too much incentive to spam walls. I hate those walls everyone spams in the middle on the current money..

    QFT! More than one way to get to the enemy (say tunnels under the bridges?) and to move the base refs away from the walls (so you can't nuke snipe them) would be a major improvement.

    You better would add a thing that makes you requires a skill greater than 1 in order to play district (above emp_recruit level). Oh, and remove turrets.

    YES. That sounds good.

    Also, add emp_railroad (for jeeplulz).

    the reason that emp_district sucks is that idiot server admins put it on their 40 player server. isn't obvious that it's a small map designed to be fun for small games.

    personally, and i KNOW this is personal, i enjoy "stalemated" games on district, but i imagine for new players it's a real bore. especially the "DON'T SPAWN" part.

    No. On so many levels, the Training server removed it for a reason, and I don't want it back.

    I kinda like glycenpass, but I don't think its refined enough to be official.

    Frost is blue water, glycenpass was a shitty ice valley that really had no flow except forward and back, and once you got heavies the match was over.

    Really? I never found it to be. Sure, you can end up with chokepoint hell in one of the paths if absolutely everyone is stupid and attacks there... but the most important part of the map is the center, and there's not really any chokepoints there.

    And, additionally, there's always alternate routes... if everything is grinding to a halt in one chokepoint, it's not too hard to try from another direction. It's not like, say, Slaughtered, where there's really only one narrow little route that anyone can seriously take.

    Now, if you want to avoid chokepoint hell in official maps, update Slaughtered. I know the intention of the bridge was to limit that, but it happens so rarely that I think it must indicate that something is wrong with the map.

    And, honestly, some chokepoints aren't bad as long as they don't grind the entire map to a dull standstill. There is a definite problem with many of the official maps being too 'open' -- yeah, yeah, too many chokepoints is bad, but on (say) duststorm or mvalley, you can usually drive right up to the enemy base at any point in the game... there's no sense of fighting over territory or anything like that, it's just 'whoever captures the key point can drive wherever they want.' There's room for some maps like that, but I don't think we want too many.

    but slaughtered and dust storm are easily two of the best maps. I've never found midbridge too much of a chokepoint map.



    if anything needs an update, it's escort. it's embarrasingly ugly.

    why do people consider one chokepoint alot stalement maps like
    emp_frost good? I have no clue.

    Emp_glycenpass is the same its totaly boring.

    Money too same remove it plz

    Those maps are all about point and click camping.
    Theres no real gameplay, guess that those
    maps are popular cause they are the only map
    on which a new player has a chance against
    an experienced one.

    I'm breaking my 1337 postcount just to say this:

    Shouldn't we keep the old maps, as otherwise new players would have to download them every time they join a server?

    And just add new maps. Midbridge would sure be fun if the emps didnt have to download it. And its great.

    Well, some maps are really really awful. Like Money, but I think that was taken out already... and somehow didn't die...

    (Honestly, maybe someone should just make a Money 2.0, a map called "money" that is very different, but has the same name and doesn't suck. That would hopefully end up killing money off for got as people update to the 'new' version.)
