use wage to buy body armor: bio resistant armor bullet resistant armor explosive resistant armor nuke resistant armor (reduce nuke damage marginally) etc etc etc structures: cameras radars etc etc etc 1 time items: spam (heals 5hp) dehydrated icecream (heals 10hp) cigarettes (heals 25hp) stim pack (100% stamina) Bio Antitode (cures bio) breathing extender (extra 20seconds under water without damage) etc etc etc misc: snow boots (better traction on ice maps) shock absorbers (reduce fall damage) climbing boots (can walk up steeper hillsides) etc etc etc gives infantry a variety of gear and combinations of gear so everyone can be special. everyone can get 1-3 slots for gear. hell lets make it an RPG or something... no cons because everyone can get watever they want. also to make it more interesting.. the items can only be bought from an armory like building per life.. so like a canteen or commissaries. or even make it researched based before being available to be purchased (although this would slow down research by slowing the progression towards end game research) also when you die, you leave behind a pack where your enemies can pick them up and use (friendly cannot). this is purely for the purpose to deal with over powering. to maybe tweak it, maybe the pack gives personal wages to the enemy for scavenging it.
Even though this sounds kind of advanced (and Empires doesn't need more advanced stuff), I like the idea. Would need a work-through though.
I really wouldn't like this if you had to buy all your gear each time you died. It would mean more 'hrm, where can I camp and make at least x points without risk, so that if I get killed I can have my awesome stuff next turn.'
Something to make wages on district feel, useful, like getting balistic helmets, armor, and maybe some specialized guns like HE rifles and bio mines.
atm.. i hate district.. i got tired of mortar spamming from BE side. keep spamming till NF gets to BE's third flag, then retreat. just adding another level of sophistication XD.. making learning curve more tough. its probably unncessary.
Empires. The first MM-No! RTS/FPS/RPG! This would promote farming more than anything else. And needing wages to build a camera/radar? We need to rank up to help the team? You forgot the Scout Rifle +1, the Engi Calculator of Dividing By Zero, and the Horadric Cube. ;D

That would be useful for beginning players who want to learn how to mortar. Except mortar isn't an insane range weapon, unless used on heights, if this thing was also applied to artillery... now that is a nice addition.
nah, that just shows on the mini map a radius about the size of a VF. I'm talking more of a system like the grenades on gears of war.
oh you mean an arrow or circle or smthg in 3d space ... noooo do not want - it just would make the mortar too easy to controll, which means it would need a nerf - and NO ONE wants the mortar nerfed :D N O O N E !
The mortar is fine as it is. It's not too powerful and it's not too weak. And it's splash radius is not very large either. It's fine.
thats how any thread becomes a mortar discuss thread. mortar needs nerf. buff Frag Grenads, ARs, Carbine and NFHR. btt: any game needs an rpg part. does not have to be fantasy though
