Why do they even jump when they die? I always wondered exactly what purpose it has. Knowing Empires though it just might be an unintended "feature"(bug). The cv is looking really good. Is it the same size btw? I can't tell from the pictures.
No, it's on purpose. It was added to be able to better discern when exactly a vehicle was destroyed. If we had vehicle gibs (like walls currently do), we could have them explode into several bits and remove the jumping behaviour.
Textures need some tweaks yes. The noise, the scratches are way too big. Throw some more noise in there that is low-frequency, to break up the monotony. Right now this reeks of TF2. Which is fine, but Empires isn't TF2, so please conform to the visual standard.
