All pics together are 2MB in size, that should cost you ~0.02€ if you don't have any data plan at all. And you get lovely Emmas in return.
If I tried very very hard, that would be nine coins for the pictures themselves. But I have a data plan, thanks for reminding me!
I just noticed they really like using water bearing bodies in their names. Cant wait for FlowerSea and then for PeaceOcean.
Guys, fuck skylake. Broadwell did 5ghz on air. And it only took 1.42V, so you could totally run that as your 24/7 oc. I bet it was only like 40C on load too.
It seems to reach the same clocks as the 4790K did. Together with the fact that DirectX12 could use the IrisPro AND a dedicated card to improve the FPS the chip looks even better. It will run with cheaper DDR3 memory too. Probably not as bad a deal as everyone thought.
Definitely. It's obvious that the fivr and crystalwell are instrumental in allowing this overclocking champ yup strut its stuff.
So, Broadwell is coming on June 2nd, took Intel only two years to get new tech to the desktop. http://wccftech.com/intel-14nm-broa...ially-launching-2nd-june-benchmarks-revealed/
And here I sit with a GTX 970 that never goes over 80% load: PCIe 2.0 is bottlenecking, DDR2 is bottlenecking, SATA2 is bottlenecking, Northbridge is bottlenecking, ... Q9550 I still love you. Maybe if I wait another 2 years Intel will have gone full circle and bring i7-9xxx :D EDIT: no XEON Roadmap?
You should get one and put 1.42V through it. The tech report said it's a low vcore, so you can trust them.
It goes to 4.8ghz @ 1.2V so why not. It all depends on how good a overclocker Skylake is, if Skylake only goes to 4.4 then I rather take the Broadwell. That is, if Intel doesn't charge extra for that 128MB on-chip RAM. Whatever awesome chip I will get, I will enjoy rubbing it in the face behind that low res monitor of yours. @Wookie The time to upgrade has come! Just think of all those poor FPS you are wasting!
Another reason to upgrade: The occulus Rift will need atleast an i5 4590! https://www.oculus.com/blog/the-rifts-recommended-spec-pc-sdk-0-6-released-and-mobile-vr-jam-voting/
But there's nary a single 4k display involved! How will you manage? And where's muh adaptive sync? I'm not spending a bazillion dollars on something that will tear only a few inches from my eyes. But srsly tho. Pixels, where are they? If there's ever a good excuse to go fucking wild with pixel density, it's on the display that's like two inches from your face. Don't make me start doing math on the minimum pixel count necessary for a "retina" effect at that distance.
While it is pretty late in the game to be going X99, it's still a solid platform that will stay on top for at least a couple more years.
Nah, those six cores are still nice to have, if you do anything multi-threaded. Skylake-E is more than a year away, I guess.
