Remove the scout because the grenadier is all you need to do commando missions.

who me? no, im not frustrated, im sick of people complaining about scout when something is going to be done about it. Quit living in the past.

 

The scout was never going to be removed, people probably thought that by removing the rifle we were removing the class.

 

not removing the class but killing it.

 

And that is exactly the kind of response we don't need. It's a scout, not a sniper, so it won't kill it at all.

 

But the scout "is" treated as a sniper to most players anyways.

 

the sniper was exactly the thing that attracted so many players, as well as adding something different to the mod.

the new scout is going to be a weak rifleman.

IMO just remove scouts until stuff can be added to make them useful not just annoying waste of a team member.

 

I think the scout rifle still needs to be in the game BUT just watered down dmg wise. Otherwise their are going to be a hell of a lot of complaints. The thing that baffles me though is that games like BF2 have maps just as big if not bigger than empires and yet people dont complain or have half the problems. WAYS OF SORTING OUT THE SCOUT RIFLE:

LESS DMG

go back to page 10 or 11 and read what emp_recruit (simon) posted about scouts. that's all that needs to be said. They don't suck, they're just waaaaaay less useful then everything else. So they suck by comparison.

 

Okok, I'm confused were removing them because I heard afew, They are Unfair on Big maps? They are Weak and Crap? They are not ment to be in Empires? Ummmm Why are we removing it or all the reasons How can a weak gun be Overpowered on big maps? I R CONFUSED

 

long reload, freeze for 5 seconds, takes 5 damage for not taking time to hold it properly

 

honestly though; what's a new gun going to do? it won't make the scouts any more of a team player. this is why so many people have a problem with what they perceive as a the removal of an unique aspect of the game- it's not going to make you think "i'm so glad we have 4 scouts on the team, they're a great help to the team" any more than they do now.

Guess what's planned? A complete scout overhaul! It's just that the majority of the scoutlovers don't seem to realize that taking away the rifle is just one of many things that will occur.

 

If they had read my posts they would have.

 

On the contrary, if they had read your posts they'd believe it's utterly hopeless and the scout will be removed for lack of any concrete ideas.

 

This thread hasn't been going anywhere for some pages, I suggest people just read it, find comfort in it, or not, I don't really care.
If you need to continue this discussion, try making a new thread that focuses on something sensible instead of having 10 people talking about random things that might or might not be true.
