Satanchild, escort is a conquer map. You need to push to conquer. Dying comes with pushing. It seems to me all you did was sit back and spam HE, never pushing, while the scouts conquered and won the map.
Overall team K/D is a pretty good indicator of what team is going to win. Less so on some maps, more so on others.
God, I swear people freak the fuck out every time I spending a precious 20s researching the grenade launcher, but I get a new convert to the cult every time too. That thing rocks. Escort is a perfect proof on concept, though.
Its ok if your already in improved det but by the time you are there GL ACPs aren't so hot. GL APCs really shine when you can hit bases that aren't fully established and there aren't every many tanks on the map. By the time your getting HE they aren't so hot. They rule on scort though.
I prefer looking at the points, especially on Escort. In reality, BE is in a race against time to get as far as possible before around 4+ NF players get 40+ points. Thats 8 lvl3 turrets that will stop any BE advance.
well really, escort is more of a race to capture points before NF can manage to fortify them BE really is screwed on escort if they don't cap the first flag immediately
That first flag is more of the 'prove you can' flag. If BE can't cap it, that proves that BE isn't competent enough to win Escort, and they were screwed to begin with. Fortifying it well is uncommon and grenadiers can pick off turrets more easily than at any other flag.
if this is true, why does the map take so fucking long the map would be better for all parties if BE started at the second flag, not the first BE would have more tanks at that point, making it easier for them (also, less time for NF to get multiple 40 point engineers to spam level 3 mgs) NF would get a slightly easier time taking BE's flag, allowing the map to end faster if BE is completely incompetant therefore, escort would be shorter, so the peoples are not forced to suffer playing escort for one hour, so it becomes more bearable for the people who do not enjoy escort, and may infact, make escort MORE FUN?
Escort should be reduced to a 15 minute length map really, and should be shortened accordingly. The map is TOO FUCKING LONG.
Yeah... I think that Escort's only real issue is its excessive length. It's a pretty good map overall, and it makes a nice change, but especially if BE fails then it draws on forever. And even if NF fails slowly it can drag on forever. It just often ends up taking much, much longer than any other Empires map... and it takes the most time when someone is failing, which is when it's the least fun.
what applies to escort also applies to district402, urbanchaos, and glycencity as well it may be a different type of game, but it doesn't mean that said new type is any fun, and even if it WAS fun, it doesn't mean it was executed properly - just because it compiled doesn't make it fit for play... ... say, I think we're on a runaway train...
Not so much district402 (and I've never played urbanchaos), and glycencity map only needs to be remade a little simply because it isn't fair for BE. Also I think you really need to say, "tighten up" all game types.
