Ah, well, i guess you cant expect anything else when a newb gets to make his first heavy. Remember that the first heavy tank i got in empires was acctually a rail heavy (no, i didn't made it, the comm had restricted vf and was creating tanks himself), and my first thought was: "Wtf? this is just like two standard cannons except on a bigger tank :p
I love stickies, I mostly play as rifleman with extra ammo as skill and I jsut sticky heavies and lights alike :D Stickies are espacialy effective against APCs. My worst fail tank ever: Yesterday there was a tank with 6 standard cannons, 6/6 normal armour and 3 Phase engine... Can things fail any more then that?
It's hard to say. A tank with no armor would at least not cost his team quite as much, but the resulting tank would be even weaker. Alternatively, 6/6 composite armor and no weapons. Even better, 6 plates of comp on all sides but one (the front, generally), which has no armor at all. Plus standard engine and no weapons. So you're costing your team an absurd amount of money for a tank that can't accomplish anything, moves very slowly, and can still die in one hit; it's basically an extremely expensive, very slow jeep.
Omg, thats just noob. Thats like making Artillery with composite armor but without weapons - its just gay.
YES people, something can fail even more: yesterday I was on nachos(wich fails anyway) and I was owning BE. I had a Double HE 6/6 Composite .50 mg Advanced Coolant engine + the grenadier defusal and extra armour skill. There was a guy wich logged on(forgot his) name, telling me I had a fail tank(hillarious?) he then build, I am NOT kidding: Heavy STANDARD armour, dual PLASMA and a PLASMA mg while having a 3 PHASE engine... Whenever I see someone having PLASMA on escort I want to kill someone...
Composite? Thats retarded, and borderline griefing with your shitty 1300 res heavies. A 770 res 5x5x5x5 regen tank, with dual HE and coolant however... is sensible. I don't see the fail tanks, I build them. Its a game I play, "how many kills can I get with <insert failtank here> ?"
No, are you retarted? LOOK BELOW, notice Raian Empire - Gene. So how are my tanks shitty? I did not die once? I used 1 tank all that game.
I think the thing is, people like to badmouth Composite because they want to discourage noobs from wasting the team's res on more and more overpriced tanks which they nonetheless lose immediately. So everyone says Comp is completely worthless, and it's been repeated so much that some people have actually come to believe it. It isn't true, though. Comp is overpriced, and not generally worth researching. It takes too long to research, then it eats up all your res. But once you actually have a composite tank on the field, it is better than any other armor, overall. Not worth the high price tag in a typical game? Sure. But especially against turrets and other things that ignore speed/angle, Composite is extremely effective. Your 770 res 5x5x5x5 regen tank is a very economical choice, but all else being equal a 6/6/6/6 comp heavy with a competent driver should be able to beat you every time -- when you take Comp's damage reduction into account, they can soak up about 564 damage a side to your 375. I don't think you're going to regenerate fast enough to make up for that kind of difference.
