Nope, too late now. I am already on baking. UV Unwrapping before that was already point of no return. It will stay 9mm.
Don't listen to the haters. Just get something in game and worry about the details later. You've got great work so far.
exactly if you listen to everyone here you will never get shit done and eventually leave from stress.
So Substance Designer just got an update, which makes my work a lot easier. Just thought I let you know.
And this is how far I got today: FYI, this is made with just one base color. Almost everything you see (apart from the scratches on the metal) in color variance is just lighting. I'll see about getting some color in tomorrow.
Man I wanna, like, shoot that gun in real life. Or play with a plush toy of it. We really need Empires and Empires Accessories plush toys.
I don't think it looks like leather. Wrinkles in leather are usually a lot less deep and a cell surface on plastic grips is something that actually exists.
That's the Substance Designer 4 Internal 3D Viewport. It has some post processing included from Yebis 2, but I don't really use it that much. To be honest the normal maps in the blinn shader are messed up for whatever reason I wasn't able to figure out. I was thinking about buying Marmoset Toolbag at some point, but I guess I can achieve almost the same with Unreal 4 now.
Here's an ingame shot: It behaves just slightly different, but pretty close to how substance displays it. Pretty happy with the result.
