this is ugly - i dont mind a bit of purple (it could be from light aswell) or "battle-worn" weapons (scratched stuff looks better in videogames anyway) ... ... but this is just ugly, please fix also the scratches at the back wont be in the lowered parts but the raised ones. its minor though ...
Just to make sure: That's actually reflective metal there. I have literally no influence on the color it displays. I guess you mean the gun oil residue/grease on it, but you need to be a bit more clear. Yes, I get that those damages wouldn't be that strong in the lower parts, but since people are complaining about those too, I'll probably just remove them and make it factory new...
The metal is too reflective as well, it looks like a mirror to me- can that be made a little more matte? Also important =/= big
So here you have a little rework. -better lighting position -bluer blue -factory new (boring) -rougher lock material
That is a safety, yes. What you see on the outside there isn't what is going to physically stop the slide and trigger, that's internal. The slide lock in front of it will however lock the slide back, once the gun is empty or the user flips it up manually. Trigger, slide lock, safety and magazine eject are ambidextrous. And that rail has been there since I posted the first screen shots. Along with people suggesting a bayonet among other things.
Yeah, a boxing glove would be perfect to put under it. Is it missing something? The whole thing looks...matte I guess is the word? Like plastic? Also would it be easy to mod it so it kept that old purple? I rather like that purple.
This is why I really shouldn't post the progress publicly anymore... The only exposed metal is the lock. The slide is painted metal, so it looks more like a dielectric (non-metal). The blue stuff is straight up plastic, so are the switches.
I guess it is the lighting or something, or maybe it's because you removed all the scratches and stuff. I was just thinking the one before looked a bit more realistic if that makes any sense. Like it had more definition. Sorry if I'm being retarded, I don't know much about how this stuff works.
"Imperfection is the digital perfection" -unkown That is pretty much what you got to live by as a 3D artist. Everything else just looks boring or unnatural. If I had my say, I'd keep it like this:
