It's a nice name, but it's too generic. Whenever I search for anything Empires related, I always get so many other things instead. I know this is mostly due to the small playerbase, but I think that this problem can be alleviated by some sort of unique subtitle. Thoughts?
Well... Okay, on Google that brings me to the forums. But still, I kinda feel like it just isn't a good enough title to stand on its own. It's a word first to most people. And besides, a lot of other videos come up when I search for it on YouTube, especially if I'm trying to find something specific.
I'm not suggesting we change the name (I wouldn't be comfortable with that), just append a subtitle to it, just for clarity.
Me and w00kie are not happy about the moving of our hard work and dedication to off topic in the thread shitheap. We would like beerdude to remove it to here.
To second that, I thought my post had some value. Generic answers won't lead this thread anywhere. REAG (even if only as an example) is not in a dictionary. I thought the clear question of this topic is "find a subtitle for empires that is recognisable and not taken by all kinds of generic things". Paradox' post on the other hand sucked balls.
There's no question it's too generic, and it should have never been called 'Empires'. I think it's too late to change the name unless you add a subtitle like "Empires: Super Brenodi Bros".
Honestly of all the issues the game has, its name is its the absolute least. Its not purple prose, but its short and it doesnt suck. Fine for all I care. Oh and lovely police work on this thread. My, apparently somehow offensive, joke response gets moved but the other ones stay. Bravo.
Well, it is very true that empires has trouble with getting new players and I do think part of that is because when you search for it you mostly get age of empires mods or something. So in a way the name is very important when it comes to getting new people to even see the game. Empires endless amount of quirks is what keeps the new players away though. Teef's thing is kinda close to the mark, but it sounds more like something you see in ads added in after titles. Honestly I bet someone who actually knows more about the lore could figure something out that would be appropriate.
