Didnt read whole thread but I dont see any issue with single target....this will most probably not happen more than few times to new players....learn the game
I love the reintroduction of targets, because as a commander it makes me seem less retarded. Maybe when you select multiple targets you could send a random target per selected teammate? This would at least diffuse the focus area.
didnt read thread so really you shouldn't bother reading this BUT how about allow comm target(s) based on number in squad. IE: if alpha has three members then when you give attack orders to anyone in Alpha it will target up to three units.... brilliant? yes. implementable? idk. encourages squad work/use? definitely EDIT: also only allow ONE order PER SQUAD, not this per player crap.... thx!
I don't see how it's brilliant. It just seems arbitrary. I especially don't think it's fair to force the squad to share the same orders, you don't always need 5 people in the same position.
but if a squad is doing different objectives so to speak then they might as well split into another squad for comm ease. otherwise it;s just a major micromanage clusterfuck with 15 ppl on your team. i know i just got back into the CV but giving one attack order PER unit is pretty dam retarded and simply UN-FUN. arbitrary.....lol...you missed trolling me didnt you...
I may not command enough, but I find one order more than enough if my team understands what I say: "Three people moving up, you got the engie targeted!"
I genuinely don't mean to target you, it just so happens that I end up having to be the one to shoot down 99% of your ideas. The squad system isn't nearly fluid enough to be micromanaged in terms of the GUI. It's just not practical. And I still don't see the point of it. In the long run the plan is to give the players themselves more ways of giving eachother intel on enemy positions, as well as the commander. The current sytem is just a stopgap to compensate for the removal of autospot, which was a terrible system which took huge swathes of stealth-based gameplay and just made them unusable. On the other hand, we didn't want to go back to multi-targeting. The point of single targets is to highlight specific enemies when necessary. It's not something you need to be giving every single player all of the time.
i prefer to see it as convenice function so you dont have to direct click the enemy which can be an almost impossible task in empires
then can we at least consider giving the comm a special ability like : Camera Sweep (inf) Radar Sweep (veh) that recharges over 3-5 minutes ? idk, thought for sure you guys would see the coordinative aspect of squad multi-targetting (it's not like you will end up with tons of target, well you might need distance indicators on the red box to know where to focus) plus you can implement a delay on how often u can update the targets for a squad (negating if all targets are killed/gone)
I think the typical response is that chin powers simply haven't been able to be implemented yet. That response works for most suggestions, actually.
you don't attack box works again, just a pain to have to zoom in and/or make a tiny box to get the right target....
It would be nice to give the commander some more obvious impact on the game. I would gladly support giving him a camera/radar sweep ability.
