2.13.1 Testing Thread - Changelog inside

    2.13.1 is currently live on the beta steam branch. For an updated changelog: https://wiki.empiresmod.com/Version/2.13.x
    Please add any bugs you find in this beta as replies.

    This release contains a lot of new code and will require more testing than usual. Please help us test it during the beta tests or we'll have to test it while it's live.

    Features
    • Flags will now be (slowly) captured if the full team is present on that location, even if the amount of players is lower than the configured minimum.
    • Added turret turning speed parameter to vehicle scripts.
    • Rotation in second seat no longer coupled to turret rotation.
    • View rotation is persisted when entering / exiting vehicles.
    • Artillery now has slight horizontal movement ability.
    • Slightly prettier tank deaths.
    • Added HUD element to warn players of CV attacks.
    • Research is now paused when the last radar is destroyed.
    • Added tutorial bot spawner entity (emp_tutorial_bot_spawner).
    • Added commander target entity (emp_commander_auto_target).
    • Enabled detail shapes
    • Detail models now hide when under a building.
    Bugfixes
    • Fixed chat swallowing character after a %.
    • Flags no longer continue capping after a game ends.
    • Vehicles are now lag compensated, allowing you to hit people with hitscan weapons while driving.
    Non-code changes
    • Included new cliff textures.
    • Renamed stock maps to indicate play type to help players vote for maps: (affected: district402, urbanchaos, eastborough, glycencity, escort)
      • Conquest maps (like district, vehicletraining) begin with con_
      • Commander maps stay emp_
      • Assault maps (like escort) begin with as_
      • Fun / intermission maps (like minigames) begin with fun_
    • Better statistics tracking
    Script changes
    • Amount of units required for getting a point by recycling 150-> 100.
    • Lowering wages.
    • Deflective & Capacitve cost 20 -> 18.
    • Rename Seismic Grenade into Seismic Resonator.
    • More explosive force for arty cannons.

    If someone tells me how to install the beta on a server I can setup one with all the plugins and stuff. Maybe even activate some kind of debug? I don't know.

    This was the plan, to have a bug test on saturday. I was just waiting on the final changelog before making announcements. And totally forgot that I was suppose to do that. Whoops.

    Expect date and time shortly.

    It works the same way as with the client, select the beta steam branch. If you use steamcmd, use the following command:

    Im still a 100 percent against testing on saturdays. Fuck that!
    Do it on a friday, do it on any other day except saturday and maybe sunday, you can have sunday I suppose

    Who's gonna show up on any day that isn't saturday or sunday? Besides I try to schedule a little bit before primetime so it doesn't interfere too much.

    Last saturday test we had a nearly full public server and a 5v5 on beta. You can't expect enough players to show up on any other day.

    some really great changes here. hopefully there are all bug free

    im a little sad that all maps wont have the "emp" prefix anymore

    Same here, my suggestion of doing emp_con and emp_as wasn't met with enthusiasm.

    kinda feels like saying non-commander maps aren't real empires maps

    i mean, i always thought the prefix indicated the game, not the map type and that the loading screen would give info on what the map was

    yes it totally should be emp_con_<shitmap> or emp_ass_<shitmap> or emp_<goodmap>

    I have to say, the turret turn speed looks like you are just having bad lag. I will update it with a video but it doesn't look that great in my opinion. It's at a very very awkward speed.

    + The recoil on BE means you can only land one shot still. It's been greatly reduced, but only 1 shot lands.

    MG's seem to be fixed, good work on that. Bots might still be causing some crashes? Idk, would have to test more on Forestattack.

    look, just because my map is the only good non commander map doesnt mean that conquest or escort maps are not empires maps, as they've been around forever

    might work for joke maps
    i dont get this either. its a grenade, not a guitar
