Have not read it all. But i have read most of it.
It kind of funny how much Christians and Muslims have in common.
The book of Enoch is a lot more interesting.

What so funny and/or suprising about it? They're both abrahamic religions.
Next thing il hear someone will be amazed how christians and jews have common roots.

Whats the deal with people wanting to read quran all of a sudden though?

...wow. I tried to read that book 17 years ago but didn't get into it. Thanks for posting it - I never remember who the author is (just recall the covers) so now maybe I can give it another go :)

Alright then I guess that simplifies that series.

Thing is pop culture has no idea that Adam's wrote any other books. Hitchhiker's guide has merit but I agree in that the humor isn't out of this world. At some points it doesn't even have any comedic timing.

For general interest. If it has words people will read it.

It was given to me 12 years ago. Made a promise to read from it a little at a time.
I will say it's one of the hardest books I have read. It's not as simplified and smoothed out like the Christian Bible. The Bibles I have read I flew through. To me religion is very interesting. Just the power it has over people and how it has control over everything.

And for people that are into reading science fiction. I highly recommend the book of Enoch. It is a religious book. But....wow. Or if your an atheist and like arguing about religion it's a great way to piss of Christians and Catholics. Because most of them have no idea who Enoch is. Even tho Enoch was gods favorite person and even more important then Jesus. Funny how they removed all but 2 passages about Enoch for all Bibles.

    Way of the sword.
Written by a dude who killed an opponent with a bokken and was known for dual wielding.
On the cover is a guy with a yari.

"Way of the Sword" is clearly supposed to refer to warfare and not how to fight with a sword.

    Im aware of that.

Doesnt change the fact that it seems like author/designer decided to put this one picture because it was either the first thing that he found or to purposefully annoy nitpicky people such as myself.

Empty do me a favor and tell me of other books you've read, I get a real good feeling I would enjoy them.

Also grant, dark tower series is mostly good. First 3 novels really are some of the best of in terms of fantasy-western stuff. Then it kinda.... eh. I'm glad I finished it, ending really made it worth it in a way, it is just one of those cases of really strong start and average middle.

Also this thread made me want to read books again, it is kinda amazing how cheap you can get them for now.

Buy an e-reader and use this website - Project Gutenberg - and it'll keep you going for a while.

    ON THE SUBJECT OF DISCWORLD.

Sir Terry is mny favourite writer and it pisses me off that he got stuck with Alzheimers, I doubt his daughter is going to live up to his glorious name. There's a proposed television series based upon the Watch in a murder-of-the-week style but I'm not sure how far that's gotten or if it's been cancelled yet.

Most people get put of Discworld because the early stuff just isn't so great, especially Rincewind who is total crap until 'The Last Continent'. As the series went on he switched from taking the piss of fantasy (which is already ridiculous) and moving onto using fantasy to mock people, that's what all the Vimes/Vetinari/Lipwig stories are about. Raising Steam was great but the ending was a bit meh; I need to re-read it just so I can remember what actually happened.

In September 2012 Pratchett stated in an interview "I have to tell you that I thought I’d be a lot worse than this by now, and so did my specialist." In the interview it was stated that the cognitive part of his mind was "untouched", and his symptoms relating to the condition were physical (which is normal for PCA) and that putting a book together was actually better and easier now that it was done by dictation.

He's lived quite a full life though, your recognition of his name and talent is testament to that.

Also, it's kind of funny how you praise him then disrespect his daughter in the next sentence. People only come by once, that's what makes life important. Sure we're all ice cream, but the flavour is what counts.

I expect to see this floating around tumblr or some shit in a week.

Also, as for favorite author it would have to be Phillip K. Dick or Isaac Asimov for me.

He is still probably going to kill himself though, before a Vimes/Weatherwax crossover too. :(

I didn't mean that in a disrespectful time in that post but I will say she has written for some of the most awful video games I've played.
