'young adults' = teens, I thought. Apparently wikipedia says young adult = 20-40 years old and adolescent is 13-19... but Young Adult fiction is generally meant for 16-25. I actually thought the category for young adult was more 13-18 but eh.

And yeah, looking back a lot of them are actually meant for middle-schoolers. Guardians of Ga'hoole etc.

    also lol animorphs.

Young adults is pretty much 18-you get a job
Young teens is 11-13 or something.

I havent read animorphs. but every time i heard it mentioned its always in the context of GRIMDARK and PEOPLE DIE and HOPELESS, so I decided to leave that out. Also the funny meanings of the word discount.

Don't worry Senor, bugs bunny isn't furry, and he's more anthropomorphic than 100% deers.

Z100000M, here "young adult" novels demographic are usually girls aged 15-24. The Hunger Games, Fifty Shades of Gray, and Twilight are all "Young Adult".

I'm pretty sure 50 Shades of Grey is not aimed marketed at teenagers.

One of these is not like the others!

Highlight for answer: The Hunger Games, as its plot does not revolve solely around sex.

There's a lot of parts where it describes Katniss showering. It turned me on. Nothing strange about it.

The strangeness depends on what age it happened. Not weird at 12. Weird at 14. Past 16 you're messed up.

    1) you have to explain your arbitration
    2) I have a thing for hygiene and explicit mentions of girls taking care of their hygiene (except if it involves vagina which can be absolutely horrific)
    3) You like armpits

I was referring to books turning you on, not Hunger Games or Twilight specifically.

Do I really? Its pretty obvious that its way easier to arouse young teen because they know jack about sexuality and its pretty normal for them to be aroused by even crude drawings or written word.

I havent untill like a year ago.

wow why do you read novels if you cant immerse yourself to a point where it gets close to real? if you never got a boner while reading you either dont read or you are just unimaginative.

    (general you and shit)

p much this, reading books have made me:

    -Laugh out loud
    -Get visibly angry
-Get a boner (not often but it's happened)
    -Cry

I'm not ashamed of any of those things, if people can't get an emotional response out of media (book, movie or even vidya game) I feel sorry for them, it's a great experience to be so immersed in something that it makes you react emotionally so strongly that you have a physical reaction.
