I fucking love the Arma 3 engine. All the movement stances and shit like that, it's just so versatile for you to always get set up exactly how you want to. It's just lovely. It's like, all those times you were like "I wish I was a little bit higher than this but not enough to expose my entire torso and head", well, Arma 3 let's you do that. It's awesome.

I've been meaning to play it actually. I watched a couple of streams and it looks really fun. Is there an Arma 3 version?

Yes there is. That guy Lirik keeps playing it. Definitely works despite the occasional bug.

Ordered a Cooler Master Storm Quickfire Rapid (who the fuck names these things?) with brown Cherry MX switches.

    It's $69.99 +$1.99 shipping -$15 rebate.

I've never seen a better price for a brown Cherry MX keyboard. This will be my first mechanical keyboard. I think I'll like the quiet(er) and gaming-friendly browns.

I'm really tickled that it has a PS/2 adapter with explicitly advertised NKRO support. Fuck ghosting.

Most people hate mechanical keyboards when they try them first, i wonder if you can get used to those switches.

After dismantling it and trying to make it work, I finally binned my K90 today. No money for a replacement.

I wasn't espectially fond of the reds, they made typing essays pretty difficult becuase it's easy to typo. Next mechanical keyboard will have tactile feedback and maybe an audible click.

    That's really good to hear.

I was considering reds since I game a lot, but I'm glad I went with browns.

Browns seem like a good mix between reds & blues. I would've gone with greens if available, but I think I'll like browns just fine.

Whatever keys the K90 uses, I doubt I could use anything else now. I'm not sure how they contribute to typoing, but I tend to do that with any keyboard if I type too fast.

I know that as wonderful as this keyboard is, I can't use the macro keys because they're all way too far from the main keyboard. The Sidewinder X6 I had was pretty great for the positioning of the macro keys.

It registers the key during the downstroke and the pressure needed is really quite small. When you're writing essays full of words you aren't used to typing then it can get really really messy, especially if you have giant hands like me.

Macros on a keyboard are dumb. I have my G500 set up for macros on the sensitivity buttons and the scrollwheel's side clicks.

I can't think of anything I'd want to bind to a macro though.

I liked having various F-menu commands bound to the macro keys for Empires. I'd also use them for control groups and shit in Dota if they were closer.

If you don't have a mechanical keyboard, just fucking throw that piece of shit out. It's literally not even worth keeping.

My keyboard arrived today. For fucking $57, I got this really fucking heavy, really fucking loud and really fucking awesome keyboard.

It sounds like a motherfucking typewriter up in this shit and I'm not even using blues. These are fucking browns.

When I upgrade, I am definitely getting me some greens. These browns are way too easy to press.

I just want to type and type and type just to hear the wonderful sounds and pretend that I'm some secretary in some movie from the 80s.

And I didn't even spend that much. How in the hell do you get a heavy, solid mechanical keyboard without dropping at least $70?

Oh and NKRO is wonderful. PS/2 4 lyfe.

    Get one for $57.

In the mean time, I'm having a good ol' time typing up a storm on my perfectly wonderful keyboard.
