You are right, but quite a few cases do pretty decently from anywhere to 30$ to 80$. My point was that there is a lot of cases that add a bunch of stuff that you will never use or there are cases that some consider to look ugly when it works just fine. If it works it works is what I meant, and it ain't hard to find a cheap case to accommodate basic features. If your case itself can't dissipate the heat fast enough then it doesn't really matter. That is why I say the extra case fan could be more beneficial, it will circulate more cool air through the case, or vent out the hot air faster. Everything else you said, fair point. I don't know the specifics of what it is going to be used for, so I can't make a completely accurate guess, just gotta go with what I know, ya know?
The main thing I don't understand is that Spartacus is a rich white kid, but he's limiting himself to like $1000. Why? Just be a man and buy a real PC instead of trying to see how much you can cram into a case that's clearly too small.
A good case makes building a joy. They also make it less likely to cut your finger. Cases are one of the most reusable parts in your computer. A well designed case has good airflow. I've worked with a few cases, and the quality is really noticibly lower on cheaper cases. Coolermaster i by far the best.
While I still rate Corsair really highly, I will say that the Coolermaster cases I've had were really impressive as well, so I can agree with Hamster on that. Anyway, we can all have a more interesting thread when I build a new computer in 18 months or so. No peasant budget bullshit there.
i still use the same $40 case ive had for 6 years with broken power button and all i also spilt coke inside it
Maybe because for once, he is not acting like a retard, and getting a high end stuff that wont loose 50% of its value in 5 months.
Things like PSUs, Ram and HDD/SSD don't tend to lose a huge amount of value, nor do cases. But GPU, Motherboard and Processor are always going to lose that value, regardless of what you pay, there's no escaping it. The fun for me personally is getting the most bang for your buck, and that includes trying to make it last as long as possible. My earlier PCs lacked room and I started to suffer for lack of space to fit my GPU in, then had no room to fit my 2-slot sound card in. Now I've got a huge PC and I'll probably still use this case and a lot of other bits and pieces on my next PC. My SSD (which is like a first gen Intel one) has been through like 4 PCs/Laptops, my sound card through 2, my RAM through 2, my HDD through 3. But as I said above, Motherboard, Processor and GPU are generally things that will need replacing. I generally upgrade once every 2-3 years.
I can't wait for old people to vomit and shit all over me when I graduate. And hopefully ill earn enough money to throw around like a retard, ill just buy old CRT's and stack them in weird ways. Then I will be a privileged, white, cool kid like everyone else here.
Depending on where you want to work, shitting will probably not happen, and vomiting, while a more likely threat, shouldn't happen often at all. Stop dramatizing, we got dis.
The problem here is not the 1000$ limit. The problem is the fucking mATX case Spartacus wants for hipster cred.
It's all fun & games until someone tells you that the noctura nh d14 fits in a prodigy. Dat wind tunnel...
