math isnt a theory, its a construct of our reality, saying 1+1 is not always 2 in our reality is just plain wrong

 

Binary math = subset of math. While your statement is not false it does not pertain to the quandary at hand. That is to say while anything in math can be done with binary math and some conversions (in some cases more efficiently) we are talking about normal math in the statement of "1+1=2"

 

Actually the Decimal system is a subset too, it's just the primary system we use.

Every theory (group of logic statements) that contains all arithmetic laws like 1+1=2 is incomplete or inconsistent. Even simpler thing: there's math with axiom of choice and without it. Neither of these is a better or more correct math, they just are.

 

Technically you should include the base after the equation, it's just that people would get sick of writing 1+1=2(dec.) every time.

If you're jumping between bases I think you usually write it after each equation.

spoze you could make it auto kill the portal when something comes in and the security is active. drop lava next portal to burn some wood.

lava won't set the wood on fire? From what I hear setting a fire next to the portal turns off the portal.
