I think some people want a size comparison. It might not be as bulky as it seems if we can see how it compares the radar currently in. I think the design it self is neat, it looks like it was made so you can adjust the legs in any way and have them stay there.
Got some in-game shots for you now, ignore shading errors and uglyness its just so you can see what kinda scale they'd be at. Pic #1 Pic #2
Huh, it's a bit smaller than I thought. But yeah, Got a good be feel to it, I think it will work fine.
So I've started working on these models again. I know it's been a while but I have had a bit more time to work on things again recently. Anyway where I am at with the Brenodi engineer buildings: Radar Turntable Camera Turntable These are low poly models with normal maps applied. Very early stages of texturing.
Cool. I dislike the webby structure that leads up to the ball in the radar though. I feel like that should simply be a fairly thin stick with a tiny ball on the end
I still don't understand why cameras are cameras, they act like movement sensors. They should be renamed and if you're making models should make something that looks more like a movement sensor and less like a camera.
Wow my last update on these was almost a year ago. I've started working on them again, still a little bit to get done with the texturing yet. Right now I'm just trying to get a nice contrast going on. I've got some previews to show: Spoiler: Pic #1 Spoiler: Pic #2 Turntable
fucking smithy... making shit look soo good while knowing that it can't look that good in currentpires.
Yeah looks a lot better now. And with that statement you are wrong. As long as there are proper environment maps set up by the map authors it CAN look that good in Empires on Source.
Please provide a sample to prove me wrong. I just, I mean... look at currentpires, its all old stuff that lacks the quality the original artwork did.
Yeah, source can look really good if you want it to. Neotokyo is probably the best example of how good the source engine can look if you don't have engine access. I give that a mention because titan fall is also on source, but I think a heavily modified version. If I remember right you can force higher texture settings too, beyond what's in the options menu. I remember someone using tf2 as an example, when he forced it way high everything suddenly had a bunch of texture you don't notice before. Though I guess the textures have to be high quality like what firewarrior did to see a difference.
