I was thinking of buying Oblivion so I can try out this Older Scrolls thing. Maybe it'll be good, but I really hate being let down, especially when it looks so much like Fable.
Oblivion is actually quite nice. I preferred to finish main story line to be safe from oblivion gates and these kinds of things disrupting guild missions.
Who all plays this in 3rd person? And who plays this in first person? I play it 3rd, hate playing rpg's in 1st...
Similar question: Would it be fun for a guy who liked Fallout 3? Also, do you need to have played the previous games to understand the story etc ?
i never played previous and it didn't bother me. I don't get super into the quests though the thieves guild one is actually pretty interesting....
I really have to ask. Is there any point at all in stealing anything else than gold and usable stuff? I literally have 2 k on me and like 10k worth of shit that is marked as stolen and you can't sell it even in other cities. Im predicting that joining the thieves guild you mentioned gives you some sort of fence guy, but seriously, can't you normaly use that stuff? Also, drinking quest in whiterun is boss.
if its like oblivion (and i assume it is) youll have to sell it to the thiefs guild ... but why take it? do you need the money?
There is a fairly high tier speech perk which lets you sell stolen goods to any shop you've invested in. Although honestly I've found myself not needing much money. Mostly I want crafting materials and grand soul gems.
Then you probably want to play a mage, you start with dual wield magic flamethrowers. And you can get loot that triples your magicka regen rate.
Always specialize in some form of melee too. I made the mistake of pouring all my points into archery in my second play through.
Really? I've yet to find an enemy I can't kill with my bow. I did the entire mages guild quest with a bow and arrow, was easier than using magic.
magika regen gets nerfed hard when you go into combat though its kinda lame. Spell reduction cost % is key for the class. IMO worthwhile to do enchanting for it.
It gets really cramped when you're in tombs full of Restless Draug'rs. My main problem is finding the soul gems to keep the box charged.
I have no interest in any ES games or Skyrim and I did like the Fallout games but: Question: Fallout with bows, arrows, swords and magic?
Considering everything is super expensive if you don't like to power speech, yes I do. Its not Deus Ex's nothing-is-usefull-enough-to-pay-that-much grade, but still. Anyway, whats with the weird enemy diffculty levels? Restless draugs are like 5 times beefier than plain ones. Normal bandits die in one swoop of a 2h axe, while a bandit leader instagibs you and has around~25 times hp.
