The bit that seems childish is why would you want to play an RPG like that unless you have some sort of bizzare sociopathic streak.

I mean, you can't complete the game like that, killing everyone just breaks most of the quests, you don't get anything from killing most people, they tend not to have any good loot or give much XP, so the only reason to do it is roleplaying.

And again, why on earth would you want to roleplay an omnicidal maniac unless there is something rather wrong with your mind.

I don't have an opinion either way on making children invincible, because it doesn't apply to me, I've never tried to kill them (except for the dark brotherhood boy, was pretty sure he was going to turn into a demon and kill me so tried to backstab him before he saw me, glad that didn't happen actually.) But it does strike me as odd when other people complain about it, as it feels more or less exactly like someone complaining why they didn't put the option to start a minigame where you simulated rape every woman you come across. It would make the game a better roleplaying game, but why would you want to roleplay that?

I mean, the only answer I can think of, and it's the incredibly obvious one, is that you like pretending to murder children.

Which is really goddamn weird.

 

Perhaps he has seen the Austin Powers movies too many times and has a murderous fixation on vertically challenged individuals.

Of course it breaks fucking quests, that's whole point of it. If in Fallout 1 whole world was trying to kill you, everything was depressing and you were this little from dying in every encounter then you needed some kind of release from time to time like "let's kill whole village". No amount of pseudo-intellectual/Freudian bullshit can touch that. You simply lack a sense of humor.

So I made a damage-soaking, dual-wielding orc called Ghazghkull Thraka. I'm specializing in heavy armour, dual wielding, smithing and enchantment; this combination seems to make the game ludicrously easy, even on master. Its like playing TF2 as a pyro, everything in front of me just dies with little or no effort given.

So, ideal class for me.

Because if you haven't, you'll shit your pants when you do.

It essentially allows you to go fist of the north start with swords.

 

I tried NOT specializing at all and ended up Level 29 with very high lockpick, speech, smithing, pickpocketing. heavy and light armor are on the same level ~43, two-handed on 40, single-handed on 48. But then important stuff like sneaking still pretty low.

Now the fighting starts to suck hard because every battle mage or Orc can kill me with just two heavy attacks. I still win fights by charming fire atronachs and daedra demons, but it is not helpful in the long run.
