Are any of thse things remotely useful? No. Get a heavy tank and go blow up some armies don't prick about with scouts.
Because we REALLY have heavies within the first few minutes of the game.. Anyways, scouts are chuck-full of teamwork. Send a squad member scout with hide + Smg2 to sneak behind the wall that the enemy has, kill the peeps there (it ain't hard..), then advance with your squad. Once again, this is about the scout rifle, not the scout itself. If you don't believe in its usefulness, play with me this weekend :D

hide is not that useful and the scout rifle is going to get removed.soon. vehicle speed,radar stealth,enhanced senses are the only "usefull" skills the scout has.

Most battlezones in the game are about defending the refs, if youre not getting to their rax good luck getting to the ref. Yes, you can get to placers faster.... and then what? Lay on your belly and snipe? Really usefull.... Gonna E build the forward rax? Too late, other team had engineers with speed upg and got theirs up first.

How fucking arrogant is that? "rational players vs sr lovers" implies that all sr lovers are irrational. The truth is you're preceeding intelligent discussion because you just want this to be a flame war about how you think the sr is for noobs. Let me tell you something, it's not. When you're fighting against good riflemen it's the only real counter other than other riflemen and it destroys engineers. It adds depth to gameplay because it adds another dimension to infantry combat. This is all about deterring newbs from camping. Well by that logic, we should get rid of the HMG, engi turrets, and mortar. let's get rid of walls too since people are prone to camp behind them. Nothing gives the user more incentive to camp than only being able to fire HMG from prone and god knows we all know how much newbie engineers like to sit and build a level 3 turret for the first 5 minutes of the game (w/o repair upgrade since they only have one feat and probably only ever will have one feat). Mortar is most commonly used offensively but if someone takes arty feedback and has a wall they can sit back and shoot all day without ever being shot back at. Obviously I'm not in favor of getting rid of the HMG, engi turrets or the mortar. There's nothing broken about the scout rifle. It is fine now. Leave it be. Give scouts a third weapon (shotgun) and leave the scout rifle. We shouldn't design a game around what newbs do/don't do.
there's a small group of players who can perform well with the scout rifle. I was demo'd and reported for scripting on nachos a while ago for scout rifle rape.
