There are several things I'd like to point out in the game; the first that the scout is a killing machine, with the scout rifle. It takes 3 body shots, 2 head shots, or 1head+1body to kill anything. I get one shot in the head, then (about 0.5 seconds later (to fast for the enemy to respond (with the accuracy being 100%))) hit him in the body. Which leads me to another point; I get off all 5 scout bullets in about 1.5 seconds. Added with the 100% accuracy, and the deadliness of its bullets, and you have one hell of a gun! (Overview) Hide gets you into bases, or behind enemy lines. Once behind, sniping those bastard engi's behind walls is relatively simple, and causes confusion. Sabotage kills stuffs. (WIN!) *Edit It's also worthwhile to note I get the highest amount of kills on my team 80% of the time;Once beating Mashav...once. Any contradictions/thoughts?
...and therefore the scout rifle should be removed. Most of the Empires maps are too wide open for these guns.
Mayama, you need to thinkB4post. Can a riflemen kill a building on his own? No. Can a riflemen sneak behind enemy lines easily? No. Can a riflemen be sure of his shots a mile away? No. Can a scout do those things? Yes. And like I said, I got about 58 kills on Mvalley, 32 on Slaughtered, and lord knows how many on Dustorm. All of these were SR with the occasional pistol.
Your thread is named "The scoutrifle is not useless", i got more than one time over 100 kills as rifleman on comm maps
And another reason why scout rifle should be removed. Just sneak arround to get many kills is not teamplay. Normally teams with such players will fail. Ok, most of you are vets and then even this tactic might be usefull. But new players will even become more useless.
yea, keep sneaking behind enemy lines more, the more you will do it, the closer those lines will be near your base.
At the distances required for the scout rifle to do that much damage, other weapons are more effective. Falloff reduces the scout rifle's damage over distances. It could do up to 50 damage at close range (actually 49), but it fires too slow to even remotely equal other weapons. The fire rate of the scout rifle is supposed to be 2 seconds. It seems faster unzoomed, and I can sometimes glitch it to fire quickly after unzooming from a shot, but not consistently (yet).
I can consistently pull off 5 shots in two seconds. Sneaking behind the chokepoint and killing everyone there has won my team the game several times; due to me raging that everyone needs to hurry the fuck up and kill the rax.
This thread is a good reason for the scout rifle to be removed. Bad scouts waste time and tickets by trying to snipe everyone. Good scouts dominate wide open areas (see most of Empire's maps) and, therefore, reduce the effectiveness of every other class. Empire's is not a CSS sniper mod so we shouldn't cause any confusion by including a pseudo sniper rifle.
The point is should he be able to do that? No.. Rifleman get kills, scouts sneak into bases and help the team kill buildings(wtf team work). With out a damage indicator in this game you have no idea where your getting shot from unlike every other FPS, add hide and how the fuck are you suppose to counter something you can't see or even reach with any bullet when you do see him.. YOU need to thinkB4post.
I pointed the strengths about the scout; not if it was unbalanced or not. Maybe you need to think before you post, eh?
truth, the scout rifle is distinctly different from the NFHR, i agree with the op, love the scout rifle and can get a high score as just scout
