Its too bad the euro servers didnt close down instead of Viper. It was a much better location for Europe and the West Coast. Viper was 50-150 for everyone, and the euro servers are 50-250 for everyone. West Coast's players are shit out of luck now.

 

Eastern europeguys had 180-220.

 

lol well they gotta be a minority much like aussies. The west coast has a lot of players as much if not more than the east coast or the UK. Maybe not anymore though

Vicki, did you ever think of passing it to another person who may have wanted to keep it up?

 

Meh, give the gal a break. She's done her duty (and we're all very thankful).

 

It's not just a little chore - she's got real life to deal with. She takes care of her kids better than 99% of other people do, and she's not always feeling the best. That's just the tip as well; I'm sure she has much more to deal with.

 

Although I will miss the VIPER server, my main issue is that from a product development standpoint, it's very bad to have your production server be your build server.

My only problem with the EPIC server though is that sometimes it gets really bad spikes that last from half a second to twenty seconds, which is a pretty bad thing. I get 200 ping on it when I'm just flying around in spec though, so I don't see what people are complaining about. 200 is easily playable. 300 might be iffy, but 200 isn't even twice what I got on VIPER, so I'm mostly perfectly fine with the EPIC server.

 

I didn't notice any differences between VIPER and EPIC. Other than vehicles being easier to drive due to lower ping, it was all the same, really. Yes, EPIC did have a nasty lag spike today of 2-3 secs, but that's the first lag spike I've encountered in ages. Moaning about that tiny spike and calling EPIC "shit" is like calling BBC shit and thus stop watching it 'cause the signal went black for 3 seconds.

If you're having lag (problems, I feel bad for you son.), try fixing your rates. Worked wonders for me when I fixed mine after EPIC was set to 66 tic.

 

Thanks so much Vicki for thousands of hours, hundreds of awesome rounds of Empires & all the spec lulz. Vipers was always a friendly place to be. You've truely made a massive contribution to me and lots of others. I wish you all the very best for the future and hope to see you online soon.
