If you are not a idiot and using something like Vista,XP,Mac or Windows 7 with no service packs you probably seen a program icon that looks like the new microsoft logo. GrandPapaDummy use windows 98! Also second edition sucks! Get a life. When you right click it it will tell you that you can reserve a windows 10 upgrade and a FAQ telling about windows 10. Reserving is like pre-ordering and the Pre-order bonus is be prepared... Almost instant install speed. Also it is not releasing in somewhere like october or november or even, Febuary 2016 but only releasing in July 29 2015. NOTE Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for Windows 7 and 8 up to a year after its July 29 2015 release.
I see icon on gaming rig, that will be the last thing to ever upgrade. Start convertible laptop, no icon
where exactly is the icon supposed to be? and why now, i thought microsoft (still) has their patchday on the 2nd tuesday?
It doesn't do anything. My guess is that they're getting stats to calculate how much bandwidth they'll need on release day.
the only minecraft-like icon i find actually is minecraft :D im gonna be really disappointed if the new bluescreen doesnt come witha creeper hiss
I was asking myself, what is Crit rambling about, but then I looked at the lower left corner, where the clock and the little notification icons are, and there it was! I will probably update to Win 10 on my gaming machine, but I will certainly wait until more is known about offline accounts and the store integration and some other stuff.
No hurry. You have one year to upgrade for free. I'll wait at least a few months until bugs are ironed out.
yeah it's weird. You can try running %windir%\system32\gwx\gwx.exe by hand, had no luck on my laptop with that though.
maybe its because i own a legal version? :p my first guess was that its something regional, but mcgyver sees it and i doubt that graz is a different region ... ... or its something i turned off when i had this "i turn off what i dont need"-flash
I have a legit copy and I haven't seen the reserve thing, so that might be something. I don't know if I'll switch over to win 10 just yet though, I think I'll wait a few months like everyone else so I don't have funny problems with it.
It needs to have an uptodate version of Windows to show the upgrade prompt, maybe you are on a manual update setting?
no, thats why i was wondering, its still more then a week from patchday ... ... but its really not important anyway, i dont preorder stuff. i just dont want to be left out
You'll be under $200 by then, but $100 is a stretch. Also remember that this might just be an upgrade. I don't know if you can do a clean install on a fresh drive with this free offer.
