The new Mac Pro is awesome but for a price tag starting at about 3000$, it better will be. It's also the only good thing Apple presented yesterday, IOS 7 is a joke, looks like someone crossed Fisher Price with Android.

The specs are actually insanely beast. 7 TFLOPS of GPU holy shit.

With my experience in using other macs, they generally have pretty good hardware despite only having like minecraft, TF2, and WoW as its entire game library.

 

You looked at the price? Honestly, I was expecting it to start higher than $3000. It's a professionally minded machine, so price doesn't really matter.

For people that haven't worked in a large business, it's hard to understands the "waste" that businesses thrive with. My boss mirrors his 768p laptop display on a ~$400 WUXGA U2410. He uses a professional monitor as a glorified magnifying glass for his spreadsheets. But he brings in more than enough revenue to cover that monitor so it doesn't matter. The reliability alone is worth the price tag.

So it really doesn't matter how much a Mac pro costs. Artists could dump thousands on pumped up storage arrays, alone. The computer is a tool that is worth a lot to a business.

 

I though alucard has shitty fetishes, but imspartacus takes that to a whole new level.

 

Being a PC gamer and not understanding your PC is like being a race car driver and not understanding your car. I think it's a fitting fetish.

 

Silly pole, how can you be sure that you can beat me to the finish line if you don't have a proper car?

 

I can get behind knowing all the specs and knowing your shit in general, but
1) its apple shit
2) looks (not just aestheticaly) ridiculous.

Now, i could post the picture of a guy humpin the exhaust pipe of a car, that we've all probably bumped into one time or another, to refer to your comparison there, but fuck that, im not Paradox. Black hole veterans have certain standarts.

 

Speaking of Apple, iOS7 actually looks nice after the redesign. Apple's UI designers are very creative and artistic.

 

You mean that part where they copied WP7/8 ?

Apparently, everything they didn't copy from Windows Phone, they copied from the stuff Cydia adds when you Jailbreak the Iphone.

Or something like that anyway.

 

If you're just irritated because it's an apple product and it looks unique, then you're just as shallow as the fanboys that intentionally purchase such products because they are made by apple and have a unique look. But an "anti fanboy" is just mindless as a fanboy.

 

If an art critic judges a tractor pull and disqualifies one of the top performers just because their tractor looks different and they have a cult following, then yes, they are shallow as fuck.

Judging on looks when you should be judging on another metric is shallow, especially when the quirky looks happen to enhance that metric that you should be judging.

 

Actually, I have a more fleshed out opinion on this thing and Apple in general, but considering most people around here show some degree of common sense, i decided that stating the obvious was redudant.
