Can we get someone to prop up a server to play older maps on? It would be a cool jaunt down memory lane. I have quite the collection of maps that can be uploaded to it for us to play with.
There's tons of maps playable in cyberkiller's custom map pack, I think anything else has problems, though most of them are due to hdr. It cause skyboxes to be that purple checkered look. Only older map I want to play is silo, I saw it and loved it, but never had a chance to play it with more then like 6 people. I should probably do another custom map pug. It's been awhile since last one and it doesn't look like scripts will change in the next few weeks, maybe a month, that was one of my concerns about trying to get another pug going. I was afraid that because I planned these things about 2 weeks in advance some dramatic script change would happen to make games unfun or a tiny change causes one side to have a big advantage right on the day patches usually goes out and pugs happen. Pugs are a bit of a pain to get going though so I don't know.
Hey, I was going with the trend. Octagon is very very new as maps go. Badlands? That was a TERRIBLY simple map. I loved it, yes, lets. Silo was meh. I wouldn't mind playing it more though. Also, is arid still on rotation anywhere?
Both Silo and Badlands are on EPIC. I don't know what you people are playing, but most of the maps suggested so far are in rotation on at least one server. If you're worried about a balance change ruining a pug, simply contact me ahead of time and I'll make sure there's enough time between the previous release and the pug for the game to have stabilized.
Hobbes v2 without hobbes is missing a certain charm though. Homeland is still missing that model, the dome part of that white building, crashing aside. Silo isn't on epic.
Really? Well then, I assumed it was still a problem because people keep mentioning crashing. I know I didn't the last couple of times I played at least. Still why no one might exactly care about about missing dome I don't think it would ever get included in stock maps until that got fixed. Gotta look professional according to what devs keep saying. And yes, being a stock map is a good thing, people really don't like sitting and waiting to download maps. Evidenced by how little some custom maps get played, I keep seeing people drop during loading because I assume they don't want to wait.
Well I mean I was going to suggest some of the downhill maps (there were at least two of them), but i feel like they never really caught on.
10 bux says any homeland crashing is caused by the cars that move since its the only map that contains them
