Money being on rotation doesn't make it good; at literally no point did I say or even imply that rainbow road is any better. Rainbow road is just as bad as octagons. The vast majority of rounds are shit and bland as fuck. Let me know if I can hold your hand through basic reasoning and how to not assume what the opinions of others are. I can also give you a few pointers on how to be a less pretentious prick.
Sigh, whatever you guys don't care, and I don't want to derail the thread when nothing meaningful will be resolved. If someone puts up an old map server, it would be swell to have octagons be an option. The map is old, no longer in rotation yet still remembered and certainly not good enough to play very often. Perfect for the server in my opinion, and no worse than maps we play all the time.
First, pick a map that pretty much everyone want to play as the first map. Then put up a vote 1: Map A 2: Map B 3: Map C 4: Map D 5: Map E Move on to next map, and again, create a vote 1: Map F 2: Map G 3: Map H 4: Map I 5: Map J Start a new loop at 3/4th map and kick out the maps that are played. You don't really have to tell us what maps you don't like, this is Empires, people vote for escort and no one cares, we still play it.
emp_uaxactun emp_slaughtered_2_21 emp_fogtown emp_break_poc emp_delta emp_encore emp_gauntlet (the only old map I never played) emp_smokies_rc1 emp_shadows_rc8 emp_temple emp_traders emp_ward Not saying I like all of these maps, but they're some old ones off the top of my head. Special mention for the old 2.12 variants of official maps when you could turret climb or 9mine into interesting places. Canyon centre, Crossroads surrounding hills, etc.
is shadows RC8 the round robin one? I don't think it was, but the round robin was a lot of fun, even if completely unpredictable since it is entirely impossible to organize people on 2 fronts of that map. Also the admin plugin can easily remove the last X maps from the rotation and nomination list. However I don't think that sort of group of 5 cycling is possible. Easy enough to leave it as it is by default, where it will throw random and/or nominated maps into the vote. We will still get a unique set of maps.
