    I am a nine mining fan. Big time. But i heard from about and around that it may be removed. The threads discussing this is also quite confusing: 2 members of the dev team first said they are taking it out, the putting it back in... et cetra. So, I want to know... and can someone higher ranking than a senior member, someone that actually KNOWS reply? If you are going to remove it, i am going to commit suicide with a cookie and a mine.
    Thanks.
    if nine mine stays::D
    if nine mine goes::headshot:

    lol.

    Yeah it's goin forsure.. I am/was a big 9 mine fan but losing it won't be that big of a deal mainly because you can still ninja(trigger mines with a mowtar/rpg) and it's kind of a ugly feature that seemed like a bug to a lot of people..

    I think escort will be better..

    if it's removed mines definitely need a buff, as it is now 8 mines can barely damage most heavy tanks, also without 9 mines grens with mine defusal can just cruise..especially on escort

    I think that can be balanced out by only allowing Medium Tanks

    less res on maps will shift focus from hight tier combat to infantry and mixed forces. heavys should be few and far between. Making 9 mining heavys less of a concern.

    back in the day when empires was balanced and shit 9 mines would blow up heavies, now they just fly around and take minimal damage, tbh you can survive with a med tank aswell

    Mines will do more damage. About escort: NF has stickies and it's enough.

    I don't think stickies are enough, escort might need a rehaul minus 9mine, not too much, but just a little bit more towards NF.

    Seriously, stickies are soooo circumstantial, a smart BE team will just get HE and stay the fuck away.

    Slightly farther range on the sticky would be nice though :D

    And I don't actually care if you remove 9mine, makes sense to me. Although it'll make last minute ninjas that much harder.

    Placing 8 mines in the very same spot and placing 8 mines all over the battlefield and driven over by the same tank has great impact on the damage.

    You should check it out. ;) The other one just pushes, the other one can take down two heavies. Can you figure out which one is which?

    How will it be implemented then? Will my NF guy just be too dumb to place a 9th mine, or will he just keep planting one after one, without a trigger to fire the first one.

    I think it is the latter.

    The earliest mine just disappears without exploading and that's it.

    I don't see how this needs a poll, since it's already been decided.

    I would like to see grenadier given a choice of taking proximity mines or remote mines that are detonated with a switch like a satchel charge, so he can set traps for people with defusal. Also mine spotting would be nice or give the scout a little landmine sign to put on mines.

    And how will the scout be doing this without activating the mine?

    Most people seem to be shrugging this off... and perhaps it's not a big deal to them... The matter of fact is that, whether or not the 9-mining phenomenon was intentional or not, it became a solid part of Empires.

    Those who don't favor 9-mining or don't think it should be in Empires should have taken it out much, much earlier. Once something becomes a part of the game that people enjoy and use - to take it out is a more often than not, a bad move.

    I hope that the removal of 9-mining isn't going to be reminiscent of excessive alterations to the game play of Empires... because too many changes will simply ruin a game for its existing player base. SOE ruined one of the greatest MMORPGs of all time through their nerfs and revamps of SWG taking it from Pre-CU, to CU, and then to the horrid NGE.

    Of course you can use mortars and the RPG but in some scenarios it's a bit impractical.

    Either way... I think that if we destroy something with 8-mines in-game, we should continue to say that we 9-mined it, in loving memory of the good ol' 9-mining days. Who will pledge with me to keep the 9-mining terminology around instead of "zomg! I 8-mined it, George! lewlz!" ?
