Why is everyone beefing with Evan, he was a massively constructive force in getting this league together. I don't understand how so many guys can be on their PMS simultaneously over christmas day, it's biologically impossible.

What's so hard about saying: "Sounds great, count our clan in". Then you get loads of games pretty much arranged for you (the bit you care about), you get a lil rank at the end of the day to take home to your proud parents, etc.

I seriously don't get why any of you clan members, i.e participants in the league, give a shit how it's organised. why do you care? you care too much. let the guys who run the league sort out all that shit, make it balanced and fair, stay out. It's just slowing everything down, having everyone add their own two cents (yes I'm a hippocrite, but at least this is constructive progressive input)

they tried that in season 1 and 2, and look where it got us.

it may be slower but at least it might work this time, once the concept is ready.

The PUG idea was good, I just never had the time to work on the bloody admin system of it. Weren't you supposed to help me CB? Either way, it was Evan's idea primarily, I just poked some PHP. I still have the code around that I'd done, and all the code for the previous leagues.

 

I guess you weren't part of the league when Evan would change rules randomly to help CW, or call matches void.

Do the PUGS. The PUGS stand to breath new life into Empires. If the commentary is done well, it could also serve as a good form of internet entertainment to pull in tons of new players, and maybe even entire clans.

Personally, I'm in favour of the original concept from earlier this year, where the participants are broken down into 2 main teams, one for the NF, and one for the BE. Within those teams are sub divisions, the actual playing teams. Each team would probably have like 3-5 sub divisions (depending on the popularity of this) at 11 players each (10 foot soldiers and 1 commander). As suggested originally, each divisions commander would be the leadership of the overall team. Sub divisions of comparable skill level are matched up, and cycled through per week.

I personally really like that concept, although I do realize it would require more work. I would be more than happy to help with this.

Well...my vote was for the pugs, not for a clan league. I figured it was yes (in some format) or no (nothing at all).
