Well obviously none of you ride, cause there is ways to not put your self in situations where you will land on your head or neck. It's not about being pro, its about knowing your limits. It's funny how you guy's take this as me bragging when I'm just stating a point of view. I'm not hating on people who wear helmets, I just don't think its necessary and if you plan on doing tricks where you could land on your head you better have health insurance cause like I said, you can still break your neck or lose the skin off your face. jamie thomas - leap of faith... he's a pro, wheres his helmet? Fact of the matter is on TV they are forced to wear them for legal purposes not because they want to. I guess a camera on a helmet could be kinda cool, but it would be shaky footage no one would care to watch except yourself. If your gonna go big and do something worth filming get some people to film you doing it like in that clip I posted.
lol i had a near death experience XD... i was at grand canyon hiking when i was like 6.. and this ground squirrel popped out of the bushes and i got scared @_@.. i jumped off the trail and defying all physics i made a U turn in the air and got back on the trail O_O.. its like doing those stupid platforming maps for half life mods like sven coop. maybe it was a chipmunk, i forgot.
you just assume that wearing a helmet while biking/skating is the same as wearing it while snowboarding/skying thats just not true i dont wear a helmet on my bicycle either but i do while skying i both cases you have a chance to hurt yourself from the fall itsself, sure but in snowsports you got that not ignoreable chance your gonna fall down the whole slope afterwards so yeah i wear a helmet (and it keeps my head warm and i can listen to music with the built in speakers ;P)
great when cycling you got the chance to hit the road with your head popping it open. additionally if you hit anything with about 25-30kmh your chance of severe injuries or even dying is not so bad too ... ... but well, unless i ride downhill i dont wear a helmet and protectors either no risk, no fun - right?
aww no man, it's when you lift yourself up, and instead of your whole hand pushing you up, only your thumb did, and it goes back and like CRACK bitch. happened to me like 2 times in my life.
u are doing it wrong ... also do you have glass instead of bones? never happend to me Oo i broke my arms 7 times though ... in a timeframe of 2 years ... skateboarding roxx
Skiing is different cause you could hit a tree and actually cave in your skull, but you definitely don't need a helmet for snowboarding. I mean, you don't nearly get the same amount of speed as skiing and were talking about snow here not cement like on a skateboard. The worst you can do is break a leg/arm unless your a complete retard and purposely try to land on your neck which I'm almost certain the human body will react instinctively in a way on its own to make sure you land on your back instead.
Well, were talking about tricks and getting air here, not racing.. Obviously with racing pretty much anything you will need helmets but, with tricks all you gotta do is know your limits. It's not hard to know when you should or shouldn't attempt a back flip.
I don't know about the US, but every time I've been boarding, whilst there's been some nice days with powder where quite frankly, I didn't need a helmet, there's also a hell of a lot of days where it's clusterfucked with ice. And ice fucking hurts. It's like falling on concrete, only you keep going and do it again and again and again.
