And now the finished version: Its roughly 10 units smaller then the nuke... I did not compile it; I rather left it as an SMD and a TGA files, Downloaded it if you wish to compile it yourself (Or if you want it as a replacement for current missles, I can compile it properly :p) Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/31155554/Bio_Missile.zip.html
I j00. for homing, make them slimmer, with larger fins, and make the fins look hinged, like they adjust for steering.
nice, looking at models always make me want to model myself, its just that I can't do much right now :'( the bio missiles somehow reminded me of the moss arrow in thief x)
thats awesome. nice work. :D for normal missiles and homing, have it as thin at the front as the back.
Yeah... Im still working on theese... RL been piling in real hard a week or so... Finaly got a breather :D And so here I present to you Homing Missle... I got kind of lazy on the texture >.< so it kinda stretches... Attached is the TGA and SMD files... They are not compiled... http://rapidshare.com/files/35681713/Homing_Missle.rar.html **** Is that all of them? Or do I still need some other missle that I missed?
That homing missile looks great, but aren't the fins pointing in the wrong direction? I don't know much about aerodynamics or projectile physics, but instinct says that they'd have better control if they pointed backwards.
True. There was also a one airplane which had its wings reversed. It flew quite well, almost. It was extremely hard to keep it under some sort of sensible control and computer installed into it had to fix all the time plane's wing's positions to prevent it to stall or lose its control and things like that. But I don't know about the missiles, maybe those reversed wings are just good for some missiles because they can do then extremely tight turns or something like that but at least it has to have a computer which fixes all the time its wings positions so it wouldn't just spin out of its course.
Reverse swept wings or fins do work and they can provide tremendous maneuverability because of there inherent instability. Thats why to use them fly by wire is required as it takes a computer power to keep a stable course. Ok thats enough for science class lol.:D Id say it looks great for a homing missile.
I would personally prefer it if the wings were the other way round. They just look... backwards... even if it is physically possible for it to fly :p
You should make the artillery shells larger than normal cannon shells, so an AA tank could use some kind of laser to pop it out of the sky. The arty shells should move slower anyway, and be destroyable for all of it's power.
In real life do you shoot artillery's shells down by a laser? I don't think so. So I think that shouldn't be included in the mod because it would go too stupid then. Next step would be the ability to shoot down normal shells because you can shoot artillery's shells.
