GUI Rework

    GUI r11

    emp_gui_r11.zip - this should fix all the remaining issues and adds some missing comm icons:
    • squad hud aura and power icons: Blame me for not realizing they're side-by-side now, they're a little bit smaller and fit next to each other now: Alignment varies slighty depending on screen ratio, but should be within limits for both:
      squad_hud_16to9.jpg squad_hud_4to3.jpg
    • made all frame shadow edges a little less dark, improves outline appearance
    • new comm research icons and order button (includes updated research_items.txt)
    • couple of tweaks to the comm panel borders and skill buttons

    Srsly this is most likely the only thing I wouldnt complain about the new patch. Ty Ducky for making this.

    Thank you. I have the advantage of not having to balance numerous interdependant variables or fight against empires legacy code ;)

    GUI r11b

    emp_gui_r11b.zip - adds modified commander minimap marker to tell where he's looking at, and some fixes to the icons.
    Still needs to be committed.

    R11b hasn't been committed yet, nor has the previous one. I'll get it done before the next test.

    Thanks, LordDz, I'm glad all the tedious pixel shifting was worth it :)

    You only need r11b, it has all the new files. ( emp_gui_r11b.zip )

    i play on 1680x1050 and the chat conflicts alot with the vehicle profile. I was unable to read the testing discussion while inside of a tank. I'll probably post an image if its needed.

    You mean color-wise, the green chassis status behind the chat ? Isn't that still like in the current steam version ?

    Trickster: You forgot to update "research_items.txt", hence the category icons in the research tree have no icons...:headshot:

    GUI update r12 - grenades

    View attachment empires_gui_r12.zip - Icons update for the grenades / request icons:
    • contrast tweaks
    • adds new icons for the toxic/static grenades
    • changed ammo-request icon back to classic (imho better recognizable...)
    • mls updated
    Trickster, you need to change the icon names in your vehicle_weapons.txt :
    Toxic Gas:
    "Icon" "vehicles/gui/weapons/gl_bio_med" //icon drawn in the GUI

    Static:
    "Icon" "vehicles/gui/weapons/gl_elec_med" //icon drawn in the GUI

    This also contains the updated vehicle_weapons.txt script, which uses the new grenade icons.

    Trickster, don't forget to update the vehicle_weapons.txt!
