I am pretty sure if you schedule a steam event everyone will see it in their own time zone so I'm not sure what the problem is.

 

Unfortunately, I will not be able to play. I'm visiting relatives in Berlin and I will be gone until next weekend.

Kinda like the countdown that doesn't need to be converted. Yeah you can just visit the web page to get the time, but a big block like that saying hours left is kinda cool...maybe better for the forums.

Whatever's easiest though. As long as we get a time it's all good.

 

Pred is right and that is why Steam is the best way of scheduling anyhing evar. Timezones are converted and you can simply lay it on so people have a reminder that pops up and they click a button to join the game - even puts the password in for them.

It literally cannot be easier for those scheduling or those wishing to attend than using steam events. Only ever use steam events, stop relying on the forums.

Except for the fact that steam community as a service is unreliable and it is entirely too easy for people to miss the announcements and events... yes.

Also, if you're in steam groups and you aren't getting notifications note that you have to subscribe to discussions to get notified about new postings in them, and you have to subscribe to the RSS feed to see new discussions and announcements.

Why they don't just let you subscribe to new discussions and announcements so they show up in your steam inbox is completely beyond me, and is one of the many reasons I consider steam community a failure overall.

 

I found my power ranking list even more useful now, I can see if anyone switches.

 

You can miss anything if you try hard enough!

But events are much harder to miss because they pop up in the middle of your screen, have 1 line of text and you can even set it so that it will launch the game right into the server.

If anyone is going to miss a steam event then they will certainly miss anything else you try besides showing up at their house and telling them in person.

It can be unreliable, but not often. I mean the last time I had a problem with steam was months ago.

 

We have this event at the same time on the same day every week. If you miss it, it's your own fault.
