If you do a full compile you wont be able to see the 3D skybox trough the skybox in the map, otherwise parts of the level with repeat in the 3D skybox and will be seen trough the skybox in the map (confusing, eh?).
The final version is near completion, I still need to redo the minimap and it'll be finished after a few more final touches. One thing I did was I spruced up the upper left corner, lifting up the res nodes and placing them on wierd futuristic tower platform things which not only makes the area look cooler, it also adds depth to it's strategy making it more valuable as well as free's up the grassy area so people can make more buildings. Here are some screenshots. Everyone say this is a good thing?
I've got 1 suggestion. I'm not a good mapper, although I've learned alot since I first started . As you can see that pipeline sticking out there, just hangs in the air. You could make some sort of support underneath it so it looks a bit more realistic imo... other than that, really good job and I can't wait to play this map :D
Holy crap, he's right! That's a structural disaster waiting to happen! Get some scaffolding up there, stat! On a related note, use the torus brush tool to make the bend in the pipe look prettier. It's driving me up the wall right now.
Looking great. How about hollowing out the pipe, and having it so that infantry can move around inside it?
Nice idea! Would be a cool way to let inf sneek around. But I wouldnt worry about it to much. People are hoping this will be in the next patch after all.
If you're going to hollow that pipe, don't make it too detailed or the compiler won't compile, and the game would lag if you would tie those brushes to func_detail.
If you're map were a woman, I'd hump it. :p Shift + Z zooms the active window to fill the screen, if I recall correctly.
damn, and i thought this map rocked when i played it on the old test server. this is going too kick-ass when it comes out with 1.08
