What faggorty!? when I suggested it to be remade since it was bugged he said he didn't wanna finish it and would let anyone else do it, which basically meant one of my favorite maps would die.. And its back and I am celebrating not claiming responsibility.. You guys instantly assume the worse from me.. I am fresh off a ban from empty that came with no infraction for reasons I never did.. And don't make this thread about me and then claim that all I do is derail threads to talk about me.. THIS IS WHAT YOU GUYS FUCKING DO! So stop it! yay bush is back! whooray...
I remember playing it a few times before I made a break from Empires, and it's good to see it back. With or without cliffs.
This map was one of my favorites, particularly due to the insane 12-kill streak while I one-manned center building for the first 2 minutes of the game.
One of my favorite maps as well. I just hated taking it off VIPER it crashes the server since the last few updates.
I can't remember if the center building had working spawnable LVL 3 ML turrets in the previous version ... but it has now. To be honest i can only hope this won't happen again as i never knew what the problem was. It played well on my pc, didn't know it was crashing servers untill half a year after i released it. For this remake i started a new map, and copied as few entities and disps as possible. Hopefully this means it's a cleaner map now and won't crash. Edit: Some images added to the first post
Does it still have the random refs? I think that is unnecessary and would be frustrating to new comms. If it does not crash this should be an official map with out a doubt.
The random ref/start points make this map as awesome as it was. It made every round different, and I hope that stays in. Also, the cliffs look nice, much better than I expected, and you've kept the sunny setting, which is awesome. Awesome Silk, can't wait to see it. Also, add the odd extra thing other than the central and southern bunkers Also, to my knowledge, a recompile would have fixed the last version released, but I'm unsure. Either way, I doubt it will crash.
I kinda think that a gloomier setting would fit this map better, but I like everything that you're doing.
Yeah, I am not saying I disliked it, but I also would just love the map with refs that are always in the same place. Starting in different places won't fuck up a newer comm's plan but if he swore there was a ref there before and he can't place it and starts to HSM out for the map being bugged for not letting him place a ref... I dunno, maybe I am thinking people are dumber than they will be.. But that's not necessarily a bad trait when you are about to release something to the masses.
Well, the old one had question marks on the minimap in the ref sports, and refs had smoke coming out of it, so it might not have been that clear to new players I guess. Ways to fix this (I guess) are: Adding ref rocks to ref points instead of just smoke out of the ground. Placing mini-structures or other stuff in the places that don't get turned into refs (could cause problems on minimap). Adding some description (area on minimap or something) about how it works. No-one EVER reads the teamjoin menu, I still find stuff I never read there on maps even when I play now.
Hah, so true.. The only ones I do read are the joke ones. I mean sure random spawns is cool, but is the whole random refs really necessary or even really that great of an idea? The map layout itself makes for fun random outcomes, this imho just makes people have to spend more time going around searching for res instead of fighting. The less fun aspect of the game. Other maps you goto thee res spots get it out the way and fight.
