I figured that's what demos did.

So how in the hell did Neony playback at 4K? Does demo playback have to happen in real time?

Not to sure actually. I know there is a way to simply export it, but the game still has to render all those frames.

    Fake Edit:https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Demo_Video_Creation
There is the page on exporting stuff from demos. Too lazy to read it for you.

Nice. It doesn't need to render in real time, so you can pick any graphical settings. It didn't explicitly say it, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could pick a resolution that is quite a bit larger than your monitor's.

That or Neony has a 4K monitor. iJelly.

Iam gonna have to dissapoint u all xD

Its upscaled, because youtube gives 1440p/4k higher bitrate.

Most of youtube videos that are in 4k are done in this way.

Yea, you can use source recorder to record anything (startmovie command) in source without any fps impact (its being rendered slowly frame by frame)
But I dont use this method. Mostly because replaying demo files in empires is glitchy as hell. And because it takes a lot of time.

So no, source vid is actually a bit less than 1080p (fps issues)
I cant really record empires in 1080p because of the fps issues, I wouldnt play as good..you can notice in the nuclear video in my channel that it really sucks shooting with pistol while recording because of the fps issues.

I dont have any problems watching it in 4k, no idea why it crashes for you.
