Games were fucking amazing I enjoyed it very much. vids from my POV being uploaded, should be ready in about 6 hours
Even though I'm a member of KF- uh, KXIC... I found it to be a rather dick move to try and make it into a KXIC vs. world event. We can make something like that later, this kind of stuff shouldn't be decided 5 minutes before the already established draft event that everyone's looking forward to starts. Aside from that Games were fucking amazing I enjoyed it very much.
That was FN's choice as a captain, so he picked people of his clan above most others. Although, he shouldn't've tried to make it KFC vs The World because having his team jump from spec to BE because he wanted it that way wasn't particularly helpful in moving things along. That and he kinda' ruined the point of the captain's draft, so now BigTeef is correct; autoassigning teams is better if captains are going to do stuff like that. I'm certain most people there wanted even teams for good rounds that'd've lasted more than the 20, 25 minutes. I get him wanting to play with his team and all, but in the end, I think we could've have more interesting rounds if we just did a proper pick.
I got frustrated with the slow picking and wanted to make things go faster. I thought by picking a whole bunch of people, the other captain could quickly pick an equivalent number and then we could make the 1-1-1-1 end much quicker, easing the strain on the players' patience. Everyone should have known that it's extremely difficult to conduct exercises with 30 or so gamers in an orderly fashion. The rules have to be simple, or planned in advance. You might think that 1-2-2-2- or 1-1-1-1- is simple, but it's really not. It isn't just the captains picking, it's the players having to pay attention for the duration of the pick and people have to be willing to play on whatever side they're picked for. It seems easy enough, but you're dealing with empiresmod players, which means ~30 13-55 year olds across more than 6 different timezones that see the game and its players through different lenses.
