Do you agree with Mootant's method of absolute removal of comm targets as a proper way of fixing commander targets? Edit: To clarify, the inability for multiple enemy target selection across friendly unit(s).
Although there were problems with the commander targets, and some room for improvement. The lack of commander targets is ALOT worse than having them. Although there is still room for improvement. So no.
And also make it so you can instantly headshot everyone in a 3 mile radius by pressing H, so the game is even more streamlined for me.
I have to agree with Empty. With CS-style weapons re-introduced into Empires, targets will make taking potshots of people peeking out of cover (or into a dense forest) deadly. If a move-target interface can be made easier & more visible, it can help a lot.
Yeah, though I understand why people want comm targets back; the comm is useless to control his team and the moving targets aren't as reflective to the battle as comm targets. I strongly disagree with the idea that community members should be censored for giving their constructive opinions. This pattern needs to stop.
if targets are not put back in, then i suggest removing the current attribute of the game where buildings show enemies in range on minimap.. OR reinstate targets BUT make it show only on minimap.. yes i think this would work better. possible to maybe it would show the red target diamonds for like 1-2 seconds before dissapearing.

I like the target spam gone but im not happy with the auto target spam range. I prefer chris's idea of listening posts. im also not happy with the mini map telling you what direction the enemy is facing. <realism freakout> How the fuck is a radar supposed to pick that up? If its sensitive enough to pick that up it should be able to detect targets 7x the current range. </realism freakout>
I agree with removing the commander controlled targeting, that made spotting too easy, which caused ambush & sneak tactics almost ineffective, now they work fine. Don't forget that, you can still make targets, but only as a squad leader. Radars (small and large), and cameras are still in the game. Also the buildings show enemy on minimap makes basedefense a lot stronger.
I quite liked com targets but they gave a little bit too much of an advantage to a com who knew what they were doing. My suggestion: Instead of the hold A drag a box target system the com should hold A and see a shaded circle about the length of 2 AFVs with which he can click once and target all units within. This way targets would still be useful for finding individual units and compressed enemy squads. It could also be good if the diameter of the circle could increase by the length of an AFV for every additional radar built.
Whilst listening posts are a bit stupid, I do agree with leaving them in until we have a solution, so I wish they hadn't been removed. Being a commander at the moment is fairly boring. I hate the removal of targets not because I can't "direct my troops". I can do that perfectly using a mic and the other orders. What I hate it for is because I'm so fucking bored as commander at the moment. I actually enjoyed giving targets, I almost found it therapeutic. But now, I just have jackshit to do.
How about we do it this way We create a new building like radar(not research one) , and it gives you a radius which allows you to give target in that circle.
