I still haven't bought BF3, because of the disappointment BFBC2 left me with, either play a shitload of time or run around with wacky weapons. Also people where on me for my low rank.

Updated Nvidia drivers already, now updating Realtek sound drivers...

EDIT:

New realtek drivers did not realy fix the problem.
the game just halts totally random after ~ 5 minutes in game

 

i bought this game and didnt think to look if it had mic support, but guess what? it fucking doesnt. everyone is running around like fucking headless chickens because there is absolutely no strategy allowed. there arent even commands for the names of the capture points so even if you think you will be able to use their built in communication system you are wrong. basically its exactly what empires would be on a newer engine with all teamplay and communication elements torn out... i love how it looks and plays, but how can you NOT include something all multiplayer FPS games have had since 1998. buy it now for $30, play some campaign, play some online, toss it into the pile of wasted potential.

 

right. I'm stupid enough to compare those new battlefield games with battlefield 1942. BF42 was unbalanced like hell but had a wonderful and fast communication hud relying on the first 9 F-keys. BF3 is actually not worth the 30€ I spend, even after I got it to work pretty properly. Most issues were caused by Nvidias 4 virtual sound devices that come with the build in HD audio for hdmi. Deactivating them before every game helped

Good news, now we can buy the unlocks over at origin!

 

It's not very common for games these days to have good voice communication, or for many players to own mics. Source games are an exception because the codecs it uses don't sound like shit but I have never heard anyone breath a word through the supplied VOIP in virtually any other game in the world anyway(COD still counts as Source in my argument :p). The devs of BF3 probably had that in mind and just wanted peeps to use TS3 like gangstas.

One of the balancing items we have done in this game update is to better reward skillful heli pilots. To do this, we have increased the pilot’s score for transporting passengers who make kills from the heli. The assist score for heli pilots is now 50 points/kill. In a fully loaded transport, four passengers who make 1 kill each will give the pilot a sum total of 200 points. This balancing change is also present in the PlayStation 3 update that went live yesterday."


FUCKING FINALLY.

Seriously, words cannot describe how much this upset me. I fly around so much, especially in the transport heli, and I just never got any points from it. Seriously, this is the best change so far.

 

Trying to play BF3 on my laptop. If I lower the settings enough to look like pong then I get 60fps. However 2 minutes into every game it crashes, without fail. idklol

 

try disabling all unneeded sound devices.
update sound and gfx drivers.

for a temporarily check you can also just disable ALL sound drivers.

If your game works and you get punkbuster kicked, update punkbuster manually, add battlefield 3 to punkbuster games and update punkbuster game files afterwards.

I feel you on this, I can't even say how many times ive been a bad ass pilot where im at the bottom of the score board and my gunners/passengers are at the top...

 

Opinions, reviews and comments on close quarter combat please. Not getting Premium if this is shit.

 

If you like TDM and small scale conquest, I'd say it's pretty fun with friends.
Also, purchase it by using an Indian proxy. Me and Trickster got it for £17 / 21€, compared to £48 / 59€ if I bought it at the Norwegian store.
All you have to do is access an Indian proxy, clear your cache/cookies, go to the Origin store, revert back to your own IP and purchase Premium, Crysis 3 and MoH Warfighter for cheap cheap money.

Moral of the story is, you don't fuck with me, EA.

 

Alright, for 21€ i'm gonna get Premium, no matter how bad it is.

 

For fucks sake remember to leave the proxy before you send the payment info.
