Nope. Seeing other people get it makes you want it.

    There's no discussion here.

Paedophiles should be locked up in mental instutions with all the other people who are dangers to society.

There is no historical context, there is no workaround. It is 100% wrong.

Every single person is a danger to society if they act the way they want to instead of the way society wants them to. A pedophile isn't inherently dangerous as long as they don't act on their feelings.

And a mental institution is for people with mental disorders. Pedophilia is a much of a mental disorder as any other type of sexual fetish.

Most other fetishes involve some form of consent and, given that is included, at least "usually" don't scar someone for the rest of their life. Whether it's a mental diisorder or not, they still need to be locked up with the psychos.

you cant legaly lock up people for not commiting or at least trying to commit crimes. all you could do is raise awareness and fund projects for voluntary anonymous therapy.
where would our legal systems go if there could be thought-crimes?

I'm not talking about thought-crimes, I'm talking more about viewing that kind of thing.

To be honest, they'd be better off in a mental institution. You see, pedophiles/child molesters are the absolute lowest on the criminal totem pole. Below the serial rapists, the grand larcenists, the mass murderers, the corpse fuckers etc.. And as such, they're the ones most likely to get killed/beaten/raped in prison. However, it's much harder to attack another person in a mental institution due to the heightened security in the area.

I was talking about pedophiles in general. The majority of them don't actually commit child molestation. The ones that do *should* be locked up, just not in a mental institution.

And child pornography is really an iffy topic. Its one of those things that should be illegal to make, but not to view, because the act of making it involves illegal acts, but there's nothing inherently illegal in viewing it.*

*Disclaimer. I am neither condoning nor condemning child pornography, just pointing out the facts.

There's not physical comeuppance for child molesting, its not going to attack you. Its not like other violent crimes (the kind a normal person has urges to commit) where people might chase you down or hit you back.

Basically there is no social contract involved in child molesting so restraint has to be imposed.
There should be, unless you see it accidentally as a fault of poor administration like 4chan, because it tells the crooks making it that there is a market.

with thought-crime i mean thinking about crimes without the intention of commiting it. like when you imagine how it would be when you blow someones head off but without any intention to actually doing it. this simply wouldnt be juridifiable in a constitutional state ...

Unless the constitution said thought-crimes were actual crimes.

i blame the online dictionary for the inaccuracy of what i wanted to say. i should have wiki'd it in the first place :D

    i meant "rechtsstaat" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rechtsstaat
this also means "innocent until proven guilty" which is not applicable to thoughts ...

    ... yet.

I understood you correctly, I was just being humourous, cause intellectual property "protection" rights are as arbitrary as criminalizing thought-crimes. Although, in most cases if you told someone about your thought crime (and were being serious) you would most likely end up in a mental institution anyway, or without friends.

thats really a matter of intellectual property protection in the respective countries. there are huge differences in among the us and europe or actually even among the individual european states.

some stuff certainly is on the same level as thought crime :D

That rather depends on what your goal is. If it is satisfying a sense of personal vengeance, and that is your idea of good venging, then sure.

If, however, your goal is the prevention of crime/suffering/etc, then a more scientific approach may be in order.

Killing people for crimes does not prevent crime, nor really does imprisoning them perpetually, and perpetual imprisonment is quite expensive, and that money could be spent on say, things to help the children you are presumably trying to protect.

Instead, you may consider a more proactive approach, examining the social and psychological factors which make people prone to crime, and trying to eliminate them, as well as perhaps instilling a sense of social responsibility in people so that even if they do happen to like the sound of fucking children, they decide not to do so because they believe it to be wrong.

As I said, paedophilia is not child molestation, one is a thought, the other is an action, and I would argue that not understanding the difference between thoughts and actions is rather more of a danger to society than paedophilia is.

Oh and there's a lot of historical context actually. What you'd call paedophilia nowadays used to be perfectly normal, even expected, and because it used to be socially acceptable, one would assume there was no stigma attached to it, and less probability of it being a hostile and damaging act.

Basically, if having sex with old men was what you were supposed to do as a child, and all the other kids were doing it, and it was considered an important part of growing up, I kinda doubt you'd be scarred by it. You aren't scarred for life by say, getting caught jacking off as a kid. But a few hundred years ago it'd probably get you massively ostracised and probably sent to some sort of weird rehabilitation program or something, and that'd probably mess you up, as social ostracism is incredibly unpleasant.

I think most of the problem with child molestation is the fact that the kid ends up being socially ostracised because of it, they feel a need to hide it, and if they do tell people it gets them lots of special attention and as any kid knows, special attention makes you feel like a freak, and everyone thinks there's something wrong with you, and you get loads of shit for it. I can't think of many things that'd mess you up more than that to be honest. A better approach to dealing with the aftermath of abuse could probably go a long way to making it less of a problem for people who suffer with it. It shouldn't be something you have to live with for the rest of your life, but the way it's dealt with means that a lot of the time it will be.

So, forgive me if I find your 'lock the damn pedos up for life to solve the problem' approach to be over-simplistic.

Wanting to ejaculate into a child is a bit more than "flawed".
