Honestly crhis, have you ever even fucking played gren? Your stupid arguments based off opinions that really have nothing to do with gameplay just having nothing to do with this balance thread. Rifles kill more tanks than grens, and OH SHIT they kill more people too..who woulda fucking thought.

Fact of the matter is, every class has multiple roles...if you give them one role then you get people switching class every 5 minutes at the barracks/and or being a class for the situation.. IE: people running to our barracks we need EVERYONE to be a riflemen in order to kill people
IE: OMG theres a tank i need 1 riflemen and 4 grens, rifleman try to sticky because RPG's wont do shit

i believe chris to be correct, and i think tank combat is prominent enough to make it so grens are aimed at anti tank combat

games are won with tanks, and few games pass without everyone in the server facing at least 1 tank

also grens can be used to quickly take out turrets at long range on infantry only maps, and provide light anti entrench fire with the mortar

Yes I play gren quite a lot, mostly on district because engineers are more useful on most classic maps and you can easily get lots of kills on district as gren, and I can't remember a single instance of dying to a sticky on anything other than escort, although it's probably happened once or twice.

I find the mortar a quite acceptable weapon, especially when coupled with the pistol2 (although the machine pistol could do with a buff) and it works much better in groups. The reason I say the gren doesn't need a better infantry weapon is because they already have a perfectly good one. You might however, consider adding aim assistance to it, like a proper targetting reticule which shows the path the shot will take and where it will land, possibly by holding mouse2 for a second which also slows your movement speed, because I feel that my ability to hit with it might be a bit better than the average noob, some help in allowing them to see how it works wouldn't go amiss.

Oh yes and I also almost never die unavoidably to the carbine, usually that's a result of me charging at someone rather than waiting for them to get closer and killing them, sure it's hard to kill them as a gren, but then if the rifleman wasn't good at infantry there would be no point in the class. If you give the gren an SMG or buff the MP there is more than enough room for an intelligent gren to outwit a rifleman and kill him, as I can with any other class against a rifleman.

Neither rifles nor grens kill many tanks at the moment but the point here is that the gren is supposed to kill them and that's what the balance is trying to correct, saying that the rifleman's incredibly ineffective weapon is better than the grenadier's incrediby ineffective weapon is hardly saying much, even though I don't agree with it, I kill more with the RPG than I do with stickies, and I die less in the process. The only maps I can reliably kill with stickies are escort and crossroads, every other map the tanks can and therefore do stay away from sticky riflemen.

Not if the rpg is really good at killing those tanks. Do you honestly want to make nukes and arty the only way to end games?.

No wonder why you think its overpowered and easy. Try using it on a classic map.

Try reading the whole thing dear, you might not end up being so retarded if you read it all rather than just one line.

I'm not gonna waste time reading your opinions if you don't know how the weapon performs on classic maps.

I've stated my opinions you stated yours... That's the end of it. It's up to the devs now.

And I can say that I wanted what Dubee wants for a long time and I just didn't have time to work on balancing lately.
