i bet i get the same answer when i go on about how the renaming of maps is pointless. have you ever considered i may either like the other changes or have not played with those scripts for long enough to voice an opinion?
Yeah, no. It's like they published a new item, with a name and detailing stats, and out of everything you ask them "why is it named like this?"
@Sgt.Security i have not played this version at all. numbers are nice and all, but ultimatively it has to stand the test of real games. but now that you ask for it. there are two topics continously brought up. one is biomg which appears to be considered extremely good and the other are the two grenadier upgrades. while i have no real opinion about biomg since i barely drive tanks, i can see why people ask for grenadier upgrades to be reevaluated and possibly toned down a bit (dont get me wrong, personally id like tanks to die even faster, but those upgrades really scale badly between meds and heavies) so yeah, please mister riot games/transcent tell me why this didnt get addressed?
So yeah, apparently people want to talk about balance, Grenadier Upgrades make NF Heavies useless, too powerful, reduce damage BioMG does more damage than all other MGs combined, too powerful, reduce damage. Are you implying that yet another thing is my fault? right. More blame please I love it.
I have asked why Vdragon thinks Bio MG needs to be fixed, it's not because you think it's broken, it's broken. And grenadier updates have been addressed like patches ago. What did I miss?
My take is, RPGs are fine, they force the shift of the title "main battle tank" from heavies to mediums, which is totally fine by me. Heavies still have a place, but their reduced maneuverability really shows and hurts. Riflemen become higher priority to counter RPGs as well. Both these things are welcome. BioMG is universally useful, hinging on being too useful. It might be down to poor research countering done by commanders, but it feels too efficient.
No no no Vdragon. I made a video which demonstrated it. You couldn't sync two cannons to fire at the same time because 1 shot would go forward and the other would go extremely high in the air. It destroyed the use of cannons. As for BioMG, I feel that it is the new "Flavor of the month" research, similar to the HEMG a while back. When BioMG becomes not so OP anymore, a new one will take its place.
My definition of OP is "you can't compete with it", not "it's arguably the best". In this sense, Bio MG is not OP. It could use a very, very slight nerf, say just 1 less DPS & 1~2 less ticks of damage, then I think we are almost there. It is better than other MGs in the way that you can land just 1 shot and have it deal some guaranteed damage over time and you can hurt multiple targets(sides) simultaneously. But if you are up for burst damage and/or enemy team is using absorbant, DUMG/HEMG are still your best friends.
seismic grenade name change is confusing. resonator is not a word you would use for this. it sounds like one of those horrible english translations from non-native speakers but the name was circlejerked in hipchat so its in hey look the guy who randomly says which arguments are and are not valid just made the most ridiculous one
if you want people to discuss script changes maybe insert them into the change log. lowered wages? by how much? is it that hard to insert the unit?
Good memory bud, I suggest contributing your opinion ahead of time instead of jumping out of nowhere once the "change" hits release (not even public, it's been known since the first beta for this version was announced) and cooking up a storm for no actual benefit. Are incubator tanks/missiles also confusing for you? I recall the "hipchat circlejerk" having an issue with those not too long ago, but of course not your stance on that matter.
its literally a copy-paste from this topic: https://forums.empiresmod.com/index.php?threads/2-13-1-testing-thread-changelog-inside.20913/ where are the actual numbers? as you can see i posted about the seismic grenade name change in that topic. lazybum too. no one cared to explain to us the reason for the name change. we were just ignored. i guess thats one way of getting your changes in. just pretend those posts dont exist! ok fine ill hang out in hipchat for the rest of May and get my opinions into the game by sheer will and not giving others an inch ill probably need commit powers too since FOR SOME REASON ESCORT IS STILL NOT UPDATED EVEN THOUGH I FIXED IT MONTHS AGO????????????????????????????????????
I thought you'd be a little more conservative with the physical meaning of "resonator", when you are not into Physics/Engineering. I am fairly sure that you are referring to "acoustic resonator". We did reply to you, it's just you didn't want to settle with our reasons. Hell, you even replied to our replies. Are you one of those graduate students that don't read the papers before citing them? You are talking like we didn't even bother replying to you. Are you saying that if we don't follow your opinions precisely, we are ignoring your opinions? That would explain a lot of things.
dude. it has to do with frequencies. not magnitude. do radio waves destroy buildings in the empires universe? i google searched "seismic resonator" and got a result for a video game made by croatians (these guys dont speak english) this term doesnt exist so much that empiresmod is literally on the first page of results
Uuuuuh.... it's at the point where it is worthless to use any other MG, use bio ML, or light tanks and afv for that matter (due to how fast they get killed by it); tl:dr you can't compete with it. It also make any tank combat really fast paced and make pikaboo and retreat tactics far too efficient. Just shoot, hit once, hide, wait for bio to do their thing, come back, shoot again. Rinse and Repeat. And it doesn't even require aiming skills. I'm pretty sure that mean it is op. It's the 'flavor of the month' that has so far required the less skills to use, as well as giving a really big advantage. IMO mg should be mostly worthless anyway, maybe it's not a good idea, maybe it is, but for sure this one beat far too many weapons to make any sense.
This is the twenty-second post of the thread. It's in response to the questions that were asked before that, including yours. It's pretty much a paraphrase of what I said in this thread. Do you choose to ignore my posts, pretend they don't exist? The engineer device emits seismic waves. A resonator alone only increases the amplitude of the correct frequencies. The 'seismic' part implies that the frequencies in question are seismic.
