you dont seem to fully understand this, so i'll clear it up :D this is for clan matches, you won't find this in the pug, and you wont find it happening 3 times a day. this is like the board game "Risk," where you take turns fighting over land.
Here is the basic map. Clans would each have a flag that would be pinned on the territories they control.
I am by no means saying chahk shouldn't make the server plugin. I just co-opted the idea for the league.
No, I'm not expecting this to go over a day, I mean it would be a gamemode, and it would run on the server 24/7. So when more than 10 people were on (5 on each side). And it would take place over the course of so often, if the pug would last a few ours you could go through an entire game.
That is looking totally awesome Evan. One thing I neglected to mention in my post before: balance. People have complained that some maps (particularly railroad :p) having a bias towards one team. For these asymmetrical maps, therefore, I think the fairest thing to do would be to always give the defenders first pick of the teams. For flag-cap maps, the defending team is obviously pre-chosen (e.g. NF on escort).
I could probably start up the 9th for this idea if there's a need for more serious clans. The problem is finding members.
You misunderstand. The map is not the entire area of the map, it simply represents a key point necessary for holding the corresponding area; a chokepoint of sorts. Btw, my xfire is "chahk", if anyone is interested in getting the original suggestion rolling.
Start it up again. I've found you can recruit players if they recognize you. Play a lot and make your tag visible. Or, NO ( http://northernoulanders.freeforums.org/ ) is looking for people. But making your own would be better. You have total control that way.
The problem (aethetic) to me is that where you've put the level on the big map has absolutely nothing to do with the geography. imo either you should have put the dusty ones in the center (e.g dust storm) and near the poles, the colder ones, or you could have done it so that south most is desert, moving north through temperate to the most northerly being the coldest. this would be so as you move through your campaign you really get a feel for moving and fighting through different climates... edit: actually, fuck that, i looked at the map again and it looks perfect... you've put everything in just the right places
bah, the maps dont fit. The Northern part of Jekotia is very harsh, berran, mountainous, the southern contienent is neutral and the center islands are more mediterainian. You know...it would be nice to see some smaller territories too, maybe have to win a classic map and flag map to annex a province and have, say, 12 provinces with diffrent combinations of classic and flag maps. Some maps would be reused but the combinations would be diffrent.
