Default Armor Name Voting

If we are going with plain armor, make sure its spelled with an E.
Plane armor sounds fine if cookie armor is going to be ignored.

It will fit the spirit of Asorbant.

 

Yeah, I was thinking about correcting that, but I think it might break krenzo's heart.

 

That is really the only pro I see for changing the name anyways, for non-native speakers 'plain' might be a little bit more confusing than something like 'light'.

 

Well you know empires is such a serious game for serious people and occasional fun should be frowned upon and lynched.

But I evolved from such ideologies that hug boxes don't accomplish anything and people having different opinions should be welcomed especially when they are reasonable.
And in my opinion naming an armor "cookie armor" is something fun and different and no way shape or form will destroy the game.
Now if anyone has any creativity, cookie can be an abbreviation for something and it spelling cookie could be coincidence for a long name.

From my understanding people are supposed to have fun with video games.
If people cant even have fun on the most basic principles because mah elitism then what is the point.

Now I know you have a long family history of gassing people who have different opinions but lighten up.

Don't fix it, it's fun and has been apart of the games history since the battlefield version.

If people really hate fun, light armor would be the most acceptable because it literately is light armor.
It's cheap, its not heavy at all, and doesn't protect much.

 

Maybe the way to solve the issue itself is to have HP represented as a sort of bar graph instead of a number? If we had Plain then HP: ||| next to it, then people could look at composite: |||||| and regen: ||||, etc, then people would kinda get it..?

Just something to think of for the GUI, I guess...

When was the Battlefield version? I've been playing since early 2007, maybe a bit before, and that was still version 1.071. There'd been a a fair few releases on the engine prior to that, I believe.

I actually heard something about prototypes, but i doubt it was *tank* armour in particular. Still, maybe its in the future.

On the other hand, poles are working on a adaptive tank camouflage system. Now thats fucking cool.

I vote light armor because it sure as shit sounds better than plain armor if cookie is denied.

 

Light armor doesnt sound too bad, it gets the message across, though it might be misinforming in the light*weight* sense, but the problem i pointed out still stands.

 

Yeah, but what im saying is that it might be seen as an actual option if you put too many weapons, to make the tank weight less. Which its not under any circumstance.

Maybe changing the icon to reflect that its inferior would help.


Or you, know, disallowing its use when you get any researched armor as it has no value at that point.

 

This is really the issue at hand. I've considered making paper heavier just to fix this one nagging issue. It's really killing me.

Anecdotally, I know I've taken paper instead of reactive because it was lighter.

 

Im pretty sure there is enough vitriol in a typical round of empires as it is.
